Position Summary

We are currently seeking a full-time Assistant Production Manager to support our production team in our manufacturing facility in Sutton, MA. Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the Assistant Production Manager will primarily be responsible for assisting with managing production activities to meet customer demands.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the daily manufacturing activities of the production line in coordination with the Production Manager

  • Oversee production process and schedule to ensure product is produced on time

  • Assist production team in managing overall quality standards with product and identify any necessary corrective measures

  • Ensures that safety, environmental, and health programs are followed and in compliance with established processes and procedures

  • Monitors activities affecting production costs, quality, and inventory controls to maximize profits

  • Ensures proper maintenance on all production machinery and troubleshoot/address/escalate any issues immediately with Production Manager

  • Monitor staffing level and employee performance and report any concerns or issues to the Production Manager

  • Assist Production Manager in training and orientation of new employees

  • Serves as a back up to the Production Manager when needed

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; trade school experience a plus

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a plant/manufacturing environment

  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude

  • Prior experience with blown extrusion of Polyethylene Plastics strongly preferred

  • Experience with Thermo Plastics, pneumatics, basic electrical knowledge, and working knowledge of transmissions a plus

  • Working knowledge and experience with production winders, extruders, rotators, granulators, and vacuum systems

  • Adept at troubleshooting and resolving production related issues

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees

  • Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines

  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance

  • Highly reliable with the ability to work independently and follow instructions with little to no supervision

  • Basic math skills including the ability to add, subtract and use a tape measure

  • Must be able to read written/oral instructions including safety rules/operating procedures

  • Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time, bend, climb, squat, reach, pull, push and lift items that weigh anywhere from 25-50+ pounds

Sutton, MA Evening Shift Hours: Every other Thursday 7pm-7am and Friday, Saturday and Sunday 7pm-7am Position Summary We are currently seeking full-time Manufacturing Production Assistants to support the production line at our manufacturing facility in Sutton, MA. Reporting directly to the Foreman/Assistant Foreman, the Manufacturing Production Assistant will provide support to the production line in a number of key areas including troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues and identifying and correcting quality concerns. This is a hands-on position with on the job training available and opportunities for career growth and development. We are looking for individuals with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and work in a collaborative team-oriented environment. These are full-time, benefits eligible positions; 12-hour day and overnight shifts are available (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m./7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.).
