Position Summary:

TheAssistant Product Manager, Product Identification is responsible for assistingwith all product

categories and focusing on supporting the development of one to two of PDCHealthcare's minor

hospital label product categories. This position includes responsibility forboth revenue and profit of the business. The Assistant Product Manager, Product Identification will helpdevelop and implement strategies to exceed forecasted targets for the business via

(1) Productmanagement;

(2) New product development;

(3) Advertising and promotional activity; and

(4) OperationalSupport.

The Assistant Product Manager, Product Identification is an individualcontributor position who will

participate in cross functional efforts and teams working with manufacturing,R&D, supply chain and

sales to execute product strategy and tactics.

This is a full time position that is based in our Valencia, CA headquarters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supportingin the development of all product identification product lines, while focusingon the

development of 1-2 assigned product franchises and ensuring that the strategiesand tactics are

well conceived, well-articulated and well executed cross functionallythroughout the

organization.

  • Providesupport in traditional product management activities associated with managingsales

and profitability of a given product line including but not exclusive of:

  • Clearlyidentifying the total market opportunities for growing/ expanding the market,market

share gain, etc.

  • Monitoringperformance metrics, diagnosing areas for improvement, and developing and

implementing recommendations. Prepare monthly reports, forecasts, marketingmeeting

and customer trend analysis.

  • Workingclosely with Sales and Sr. Management to participate in focused sales campaigns

throughout the year including training and support of customer facing personnelthrough the

heart of the campaign.

  • Competitiveintelligence including new catalogs, pricing, websites, mailers, etc.

  • Workingclosely with project management, R&D/technical services and internationalproduct

managers to aid in the identification, definition, and implementation of newproduct ideas. The

Assistant Product Manager assists in actively managing the voice of thecustomer in the franchise

by supporting in the development/management of appropriate advisory boards andconsultants.

  • Supportin the outline and implementation of an appropriate tactical marketing strategywhich

may include digital/ ecommerce strategy, customer sampling, email marketing,catalogs,

website, trade shows, etc. which will entail working closely with MarketingCommunications.

  • Beingthe liaison to provide appropriate operational support when required. This mayinclude,

but is not limited to: Working with supply chain to manage inventories;operations to ensure

quality, consistency of customer experience; providing forecasting of productwhen appropriate;

acting as support liaison to customer service and sales teams; becoming asystem "super-user",

handling any and all department needs in Oracle or related business systems(including sku

creation); and managing various data and miscellaneous projects.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Toperform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty mentioned to

standard. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge,skill, and/or ability

required.

  • 3-5years of experience in a professional marketing capacity working in ahealthcare concern

with a mix of the following experiences: product management, productdevelopment, customer

relationship management, business development, and strategic planning.

  • Demonstratedability of participating in visible projects in a multi-matrixed environment(where

the candidate worked with teams of individuals that did not report to the samemanagement) for

the organization with demonstrated outcomes.

  • Experiencein the patient and product identification market in healthcare stronglypreferred.

May include experience with software, hardware or other relevant consumables.

  • Bachelor'sdegree required, MBA a plus.

  • Fluidability to speak/write/communicate in English.

  • Abilityto travel up to 20% of the time.

  • Abilityto work in a dynamic work environment with deadline pressures.

  • Abilityto work in a team environment.

  • Abilityto think critically and creatively, work independently and cooperatively.

  • Meetprescribed deadlines and handle multiple projects concurrently.

  • Abilityto present testing methodology and test results in both written and verbalformats.

  • Computerliteracy (including the use of the following Software: Microsoft Word,Microsoft Excel,

and PowerPoint).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assumefull responsibility for directing patient identification product franchise andensuring strategies and tactics are well conceived, well-articulated and wellexecuted cross functionally throughout organization. * Managing sales, growth and profitability of focal PDCI healthcare wristband category including, but not limited to: * Clearly identifying market opportunities for growing/ expanding patient identification market * Focus on expansion of existing hospital market for wristbands into extended care marketplace, including, but not limited to, outpatient sites, clinics and long term care sites * Monitoring performance metrics, diagnosing areas for improvement, and developing and implementing recommendations. Prepare monthly product line reports, forecasts, sales/pipeline opportunity analysis and customer trend analysis * Working closely with Sales and Sr. Management, develop and implement focused sales campaigns including training, campaign development, and support of outside PDCI sales team. * Actively manage pricing strategy for focal PDCI healthcare wristband product categories based on target market and channels * Actively manage focal PDCI healthcare wristband product gross margin and profitability via product standardization, rationalization (raw materials and finished goods); regular insource/outsource analysis; low/negative margin analysis (working with cross functional teams of finance/supply chain/ operations/ sales) and lifecycle management * Provide ongoing competitive intelligence and targeting for focal PDCI healthcare wristband product categories * Working closely with project management, R&D/technical services and international product managers, accurately translate customer needs to product features. Work with cross-functional team to meet project milestones to ensure timely product launches, including leading launch planning and execution activities. * Identify, define, and implement clear product road map for short, mid and long term direction of focal PDCI healthcare wristband product categories. * When appropriate, work closely with International Marketing Manager to be the 'on the ground' commercial support to drive projects forward with project management. * Lead annual strategic planning process for focal PDCI healthcare wristband product categories with clear sales and profitability analysis for target markets along with specific strategies/tactics to achieve targets. * Outline appropriate tactical marketing strategies, including digital/ ecommerce strategy, customer sampling, email marketing, product catalogs/brochures, website, tradeshows * Work with Market Research to identify new/emerging markets and scope out requirements to identify business cases for new product development opportunities. * Provide appropriate operational support when required.
