Position Overview
The Assistant Category Manager is responsible for assisting the Division to bring unique and innovative
products, within their product category, to market in a timely and profitable manner. In this role, you will
assist the Category Manager in developing and executing strategies to drive sales, optimize product
assortment, and enhance the overall customer experience within the tabletop categories.
Essential Job Functions
● Create and disseminate all collateral materials required for product launches.
● Responsible for the setup of new items in SAP, and ensuring consistent upkeep of accurate
product data within SAP.
● Maintain sample inventory and flow, including approval tracking and documentation
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative marketing content and packaging
solutions that enhance brand visibility, drive sales, and optimize product positioning.
● Understand the competitive market place and visit stores on a regular basis to remain up to date
on what competitors are doing and become familiar with all retailers' needs.
● Gather and analyze customer feedback, reviews, and complaints to identify areas for
improvement and drive continuous product innovation and enhancement.
● Monitor category inventory as directed by Category Manager.
● Review forecasts from the sales force and work with procurement to ensure accurate product
ordering.
● May assist other categories within the Division to maximize sales and profit for the entire
Division.
Requirements
● Education: Bachelor's level degree
● Experience: 0 - 2 years in the field or in a related area
● Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.: Experience with SAP and/or PDS a plus. Ability to work
independently in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly
Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
● Working Conditions: General office environment, occasional travel to New York City required
● Other Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
