Vox is looking for assistant producers for a new series on its YouTube channel focusing on consumer culture and self-presentation. The assistant producers will be responsible for research, booking, gathering visual assets, assisting on shoots, and will have the opportunity to pitch and help produce episodes. Candidates should have a strong journalism background, experience in research and booking, and a passion for developing fresh angles on culture stories.
The job is full-time and in-house through December 2018, based in New York City.
What you'll do:
Researching and booking subjects for on-camera interviews
Sourcing archival footage and audio
Some studio and field production
What you'll bring:
An interest in Vox's style of explanatory video journalism
Experience in broadcast, video or radio production
Experience with databases, academic journals and expert sources
Experience with video archives
Interest and knowledge in a broad range of subjects,Interviewing skills
Ability to work under deadline in a fast-paced environment
Shooting a plus
Adobe Premiere a plus
Adobe After Effects a plus
