Vox is looking for assistant producers for a new series on its YouTube channel focusing on consumer culture and self-presentation. The assistant producers will be responsible for research, booking, gathering visual assets, assisting on shoots, and will have the opportunity to pitch and help produce episodes. Candidates should have a strong journalism background, experience in research and booking, and a passion for developing fresh angles on culture stories.

The job is full-time and in-house through December 2018, based in New York City.

What you'll do:

  • Researching and booking subjects for on-camera interviews

  • Sourcing archival footage and audio

  • Fact-checking

  • Some studio and field production

What you'll bring:

  • An interest in Vox's style of explanatory video journalism

  • Experience in broadcast, video or radio production

  • Experience with databases, academic journals and expert sources

  • Experience with video archives

  • Interest and knowledge in a broad range of subjects,Interviewing skills

  • Ability to work under deadline in a fast-paced environment

  • Fact-checking

  • Shooting a plus

  • Adobe Premiere a plus

  • Adobe After Effects a plus
