SELS opened in the fall of 2010 as an independent public charter school serving 64 K-5 students in multi-age classrooms. Over the next 3 years SELS expanded to serve K-8 students with an enrollment of 210-215.

Job Summary

The APCI position will lead our internal professional development and curriculum management. They will evaluate curriculum and instructional needs, coach teachers, and coordinate professional learning with our Instructional Leadership Team and EL Education personnel. Additional duties include general administration help, student discipline, and overall school support as needed.

Requirements / Qualifications

Requirements and Salary: Must have five plus years of classroom teaching and ideally two plus years of coaching or administration experience.

Expeditionary Learning experience will be very valuable. Based on experience, salary starts at approx $70,000 plus medical/benefits. Must have the understanding of and ability to: • Collaborate with the ILT to evaluate and track curriculum effectiveness; manage online and print curriculum programs and needs. • Implement coaching and goal-setting cycles with teachers; plan and conduct walk-throughs. • Work as part of the ILT to assess student/school needs and design/implement programs and professional development to address identified issues. • Collaborate in administrative duties with the Director and AP of Student Services. • Position requires some RTI work and possible teaching, and includes training and potential advancement. • As a small school, position also requires flexibility and adaptability to assist where and when needed; our priority always maximizes the student experience within the boundaries of staff sustainability.
