Under the direction of the middle school principal, to assist in managing the instructional program and plant operation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Administration:
Assist in planning and developing programs and procedures for implementing instruction, guidance, control of attendance, discipline, personnel assignment, records, health, welfare, safety, budget, and student activities as directed by the principal.
Assist in the business operation of the school.
Assist in the proper maintenance and operation of the school plant.
Assist in management of DATA, DAGA, and CSEA contracts as they relate to school site personnel.
Assist in administration of District policies.
Assist in preparation and administration of the budget as it relates to the school site.
Perform other functions assigned by the principal.
Instructional and Curricular Services:
Assist in implementing the district-approved curriculum.
Keep current in the fields of curriculum and instruction and school management.
Communication:
Communicate the organization's goals, procedures, and objectives.
Explain and interpret decisions of the Board of Education and the District administration:
Observe organizational channels of communication, and
Be mindful of the need of staff and community for accurate and timely information.
Personnel Administration:
Assist in providing staff development activities.
Assist in the direction and evaluation of assigned personnel.
Assist staff members as needed.
Student Responsibilities:
Assist in providing an appropriate educational climate for all students.
Assist in the periodic appraisal of student progress.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises school site personnel as assigned by the principal.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Systematic training in secondary curriculum and instruction, in school administration, and in related areas.
Experience:
Successful experience in educational leadership; for example, as a committee or department chairperson.
Personal Qualities:
Ability to communicate effectively with staff, pupils, parents, community, and representatives of other agencies.
Leadership ability.
Organizational ability.
Ability to express ideas in oral and written communication.
Dependability, flexibility, and good judgement.
