Job Title: Assistant Principal (4th and 5th Grade)

Location: DuBois Integrity Academy

Reports To: Principal

Position Summary:

The 4th and 5th Grade Assistant Principal is responsible for supporting the Principal in leading and managing the instructional program, student services, and overall daily operations for the 4th and 5th grade levels. This role requires a dedicated educator with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, committed to fostering a positive learning environment, promoting academic excellence, and maintaining a safe school atmosphere. The Assistant Principal will collaborate with teachers, staff, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure the academic, emotional, and social success of all students.

Additionally, the Assistant Principal will serve as the Lead Testing Coordinator for all school-level assessments, including iReady, NWEA MAP, and Georgia Milestones Assessments, ensuring proper administration, data collection, and compliance with testing regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Instructional Leadership:

? Support the development and implementation of high-quality instructional programs that promote student achievement.

? Collaborate with teachers and instructional coaches to analyze data and make informed decisions to enhance student learning outcomes.

? Monitor and support the use of data-driven instruction to improve student performance.

? Lead professional development initiatives focused on curriculum, instructional strategies, and best practices.

? Conduct regular classroom observations, providing feedback to teachers for continuous improvement.

2.Lead Testing Coordinator:

? Oversee and manage the administration of all school-level assessments, including iReady, NWEA MAP, and Georgia Milestones Assessments.

? Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal testing guidelines.

? Coordinate testing schedules, prepare materials, and ensure that all staff involved in testing are adequately trained.

? Analyze and report on assessment data to guide instructional decisions and support student achievement.

? Communicate testing protocols and results to stakeholders, including staff, parents, and district personnel.

3.Student Achievement & Behavior Management:

? Foster a positive school culture that supports academic success and promotes high standards for behavior.

? Implement and oversee behavior management systems to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.

? Handle disciplinary issues as needed, following school policies and procedures.

? Promote restorative practices and social-emotional learning within the student body.

4.School Operations:

? Assist with the daily operational needs of the school, including scheduling, supervision, and management of resources.

? Support coordination of special events, testing, and extracurricular activities.

? Monitor student attendance and support efforts to reduce absenteeism.

? Assist in the development and implementation of safety procedures and crisis management plans.

5.Parent and Community Engagement:

? Foster strong relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication and engagement.

? Address parent concerns promptly and professionally, working to resolve issues that affect student performance or behavior.

? Collaborate with community partners to provide additional resources and support for students and families.

6.Staff Supervision and Development:

? Supervise and evaluate 4th and 5th-grade teachers and support staff.

? Lead and facilitate team meetings, focusing on instructional planning and student progress.

? Provide mentoring and coaching to staff to enhance their professional growth.

? Collaborate with the Principal to ensure that school-wide goals and objectives are met.

7.Compliance and Reporting:

? Ensure compliance with all district, state, and federal policies, regulations, and guidelines.

? Assist in the preparation of reports related to student performance, attendance, discipline, and other areas as required.

Qualifications:

? Master's degree in Educational Leadership, School Administration, or a related field.

? Valid administrative certification in school leadership.

? Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience (experience in 4th and 5th grades is preferred).
