DEFINITION:
Under the direct supervision of the Site Principal, supervises student activities and affairs. Performs administrative duties as assigned. May serve as Principal's Designee in absence of Principal.
ADMINISTRATIVE RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to and is evaluated by the School Principal, supervises and evaluates selected certificated and classified employees as assigned by the Principal.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
Formulates policies, procedures, and schedules related to an efficiently operating school program.
Shares the responsibility for staff moral, staff/staff relationships, staff/pupil relationships, staff/parent relationships, staff/other agency relationships, and the overall school image as viewed by the general public.
Coordinates, supervises, and provides inservice training workshops for staff development.
Monitors student records to determine compliance with policies and facilitates evaluations (psychological, speech and language, etc.) as indicated.
Responsible for implementing all policies, regulations, and programs in relation to student activities, discipline, attendance, and extra curricular activities.
Recommends to the Principal policies and procedures in the area of student discipline, activities, and affairs.
Supervises and evaluates campus supervisors.
Serves as school site representative at direction of School Principal to advisory committees in areas of responsibility.
Evaluates and reports to Principal the status of implemented programs adopted by the Board of Trustees.
Responsible for implementation of accounting for student activities accounts.
Supervises use of buildings, grounds, and equipment for non-school activities.
Coordinates with community agencies as it relates to student conduct and attendance.
Responsible for implementation and training of faculty in relation to supervisory assignments.
Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
Prior Administrative or classroom experience
CREDENTIALS REQUIRED:
Valid California Teaching Credential; Valid California Administrative Credential. Knowledge of counseling and guidance pupil records, pupil health services and other support programs.
Ability to:
Promote and maintain close working relationships with all educational agencies and staff
Work well and effectively with a wide variety of people and agencies.
Work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations
Stand and circulate for extended periods of time
See for purposes of reading laws and codes, rules and policies and other printed matter and observing students.
Hear and understand speech at normal levels
Communicate so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation
Bend, twist, stoop and kneel, crawl, push, pull
Lift 20 pounds
Carry 20 pounds
Reach in all directions
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
A sound philosophy of leadership, education and organization; Working knowledge in the supplemental services, which are available through the County & State Department of Education. Experience and knowledge of student discipline and psychology; a Masters Degree from an accredited institution of higher education; ability to speak Spanish.
