Job Description: The Assistant Principal of Student Services supervises the coordination, development, and implementation of the District's student services programs, including counseling, disciplinary administration, health services, and support for special education initiatives. This role involves overseeing this staff to ensure comprehensive and effective student support. The Assistant Principal must possess strong communication skills and a thorough understanding of current best practices in student services and support. The Assistant Principal will also collaborate with the special education department to enhance student outcomes and ensure all students receive the necessary resources and assistance to succeed.
Primary Responsibilities:
Supervision and Coordination:
Manages and supervises the staff assigned to the Student Services Team
Serves as the primary administrative support for crisis management, partnering with Student Services team members to make recommendations to the principal.
Coordinates student registration (pre-enrollment) and oversees the enrollment of the District's new and current students, including course selection.
Serves as the Homeless Liaison and coordinator of the Alternative Education Program.
Program Administration: Coordinate and oversee the implementation of student and family programming for the Student Services Team, including the following events:

College Planning Night
College Scholarships
Eighth Grade Open House
FAFSA Workshop
Financial Aid Night
Freshman Enrollment and Orientation
Freshman Parent Orientation
Commencement

Leadership and Collaboration:
Provides leadership in developing and implementing student services policies and procedures.
Collaborates with the special education department to ensure the integration and support of special education initiatives.
Assists with the development and implementation of the Master Schedule.
Works with the District's leadership team to align student services with the District's strategic plan.
Oversees the district's substance abuse prevention efforts.
Collaborates with C&I to develop and coordinate MTSS initiatives.
Facilitates student service staff communication and collaboration, ensuring a cohesive and effective team approach.
Coordinates homebound tutoring for eligible students
Coordinates career development and informational services for all students.
Oversee Student Services external partnership staff (e.g. CYN, CLC Navigator)
Consult and collaborate with the Student Services Team and administration when solving problems related to student placement, performance, attendance, or social-emotional concerns.
Manages the assignment and handling of digital student safety referrals.
Responsible for budgeting and appropriate use of funds related to the Student Services department and related activities.
Assessment and Improvement:
Evaluates the effectiveness of student services programs and initiatives, making recommendations for improvement.
Collects and analyzes data related to student services to inform decision-making and enhance program outcomes.
Leads professional development for student services staff to ensure continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.
Additional Duties:
Assists, as assigned, with the supervision of student activities, including, but not limited to, athletic activities, co-curricular activities, and school dances.
Assists the principal in supervising and evaluating certified and non-certified personnel.
Performs other relevant duties as assigned.
