Job Description:
VACANCY: ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL (12-month position)
LOCATION: Darien High School
EFFECTIVE: July 1, 2024
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
FUNCTIONS: Supports the principal for the purpose of providing administrative functions, including supervision of building personnel, student discipline, budgeting, PPT meetings and creating a master schedule
REQUIREMENTS:
Successful record of teaching and leadership in a secondary setting
Knowledge of high school age students' academic, social and emotional development
Strong understanding of curriculum and instruction
Effective leadership, managerial, technical and interpersonal skills
Ability to work cooperatively with faculty, students and parents
Connecticut certification as Intermediate Administrator (092) or eligibility
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Per Contract between the Darien Board of Education and the Darien Administrators' Association
