Job Description:

VACANCY: ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL (12-month position)

LOCATION: Darien High School

EFFECTIVE: July 1, 2024

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

FUNCTIONS: Supports the principal for the purpose of providing administrative functions, including supervision of building personnel, student discipline, budgeting, PPT meetings and creating a master schedule

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Successful record of teaching and leadership in a secondary setting

  • Knowledge of high school age students' academic, social and emotional development

  • Strong understanding of curriculum and instruction

  • Effective leadership, managerial, technical and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work cooperatively with faculty, students and parents

  • Connecticut certification as Intermediate Administrator (092) or eligibility

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Per Contract between the Darien Board of Education and the Darien Administrators' Association
