The El Dorado County Office of Education is looking for a talented individual to join our administrative team. A recognized leader in providing high-quality alternative educational programs, the Charter Alternative Program Community School (Mountainside Success Academy) is located at the El Dorado County Office of Education in Placerville.

The Assistant Principal provides administrative support for our Community School, which serves at-promise students who may have had difficulty finding success in a traditional school setting. The Assistant Principal helps to ensure the educational success of students by working collaboratively with staff, students, and parents/caregivers; provides leadership for educational programs; maintains a safe, positive school culture; coordinates school activities; supervises and evaluates classified and instructional staff; manages student discipline, scheduling, and attendance; and communicates effectively with education partners.

Requirements / Qualifications

We provide a rich curriculum that centers on engaging students in a supportive, structured environment. Enrollment ranges from 85-115 students.

Examples of applied learning opportunities include Culinary Arts, e-Sports, Criminalistics, Northern CA Construction Trade, and Art. An expanding Advanced Education program, which operates in collaboration with the community college next door provides a growing number of students the opportunity to earn college and high school credit at the same time. MSA provides a meaningful curriculum that considers each student's individual needs, learning styles, and goals; this includes a strong and deeply devoted instructional and support staff team.

The program is designed after course based independent study; however, all students attend scheduled times on campus weekly. Our program helps students find success by providing high quality educational programs, positive reinforcement, and relationship building. MSA provides a personalized educational experience that prepares students for college and career success.

Job Requirements: Education: Valid California Administrative Credential; Valid California Teaching Credential; Master's Degree in education or related field preferred. Experience Required:

Five years of successful teaching or pupil personnel services experience. Experience Preferred: Three years or more experience at 6-12th grade level; experience with high-risk youth; previous administrative experience. Possession of a valid California driver's license, personal vehicle, and evidence of insurability.
