Under the direction and supervision of the Superintendent/Principal, assists in the administration and supervision of the instructional program, operation of the school site, staff development, student activities, community relations, and complete the related work as required. The Vice Principal acts as Principal in the absences of the Superintendent/Principal. This position shares responsibility for the direction, coordination, and evaluation of site personnel. The Vice Principal carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the school districts policies and applicable laws. These responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, supervising employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Assists with the instructional programs / curriculum of a K-8 school, providing educational leadership for teachers, students and staff members that have a direct function with the academic achievement of students and is consistent with the educational goals of the district. Assist in planning and leading professional development meetings for teachers. Bilingual and Bicultural in Spanish and English preferred.

Requirements / Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience • Valid California Teaching Credential • Hold or qualify for appropriate California Administrative Services Credential. (Master's Degree is required) • Minimum of five (5) years of successful K-12 classroom teaching experience. Administrative or pupil personnel experience in grades K-12 is desirable; knowledge of school-level administrative functions. • Any other combination of training and/or experience demonstrating the required skills, knowledge, and abilities may be considered by the District Administration and/or the Governing Board.
