Job Overview/Summary

The Assistant Plant Manager (APM) leads and owns all the operations functions at the Glad Manufacturing site in Rogers, AR. The position has direct responsibility for day to day management of production operations including Safety, Process, Packaging, Distribution, and WCO (Continuous Improvement) and output of functions at the site. The APM is responsible for approximately 700 employees (40 Exempt and ~660 non-Exempt).

This position will require the candidate to support a 24 hour 7 day a week operation across 4 shifts

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures an environment where safety is a core value. Work with plant leadership, Engineering, Maintenance and Operations to create, implement and constantly update safety requirements for the facility.

  • Drive and nurture an empowered, high performance culture that includes developing people (exempt and non-exempt), driving world class safety performance and programs, managing change, continuous improvement, and reducing operating costs.

  • Drive, model, champion and support desired plant culture, vision, team-based structure, and skill-based pay for performance system

  • Lead a team of 10-12 managers. Work to disseminate priorities for team and facility and implementation strategies for self and direct reports.

  • Provide leadership at all levels of the facility. Work proactively to foster an environment of trust, open communication and ownership.

Key Skills, Abilities and Experience Required

  • 10 years of manufacturing experience

  • 6 years in a leadership role managing processes and people

  • Position will require the candidate to be in manufacturing environment with rotating equipment, elevated surfaces

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors' degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Technology or Business

  • 12 years of manufacturing experience

  • 7 years in a leadership role managing processes and people

  • Desire to move upward within Clorox Company

  • 7 years of Operational Leadership experience

  • Safety leadership experience

  • Interpersonal skills to effectively lead and influence across a broad network

  • Demonstrated experience delivering results as a Site Manager

  • Manufacturing Technical knowledge

  • Excellent oral/written communication and people skills

  • Strong Analytical and problem solving skills

  • Exposure to World Class Manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM/LEAN) or 6 Sigma

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree, College Diploma, or Equivalent

In addition, the Assistant Workshop Manager is responsible for all aspects of inventory control, visual merchandising, backroom organization, and store safety policies and procedures. Responsibilities When Designated as the Leader on Duty: * Leads a team of associates to consistently model the Experience First standards and behaviors * Communicates clear expectations and holds the store team and self accountable for achieving all brand, performance and behavior standards * Energizes associates to ensure proper coverage, exceptional Guest service, completion of daily tasks and adherence to company standards * Delegates to associate team effectively * Maintains a positive and motivational style in all communication and actions to promote productivity and ownership * Drives associate engagement by recognizing and rewarding employees for outstanding performance * Builds a highly satisfied and loyal customer base through engagement, conversion and capturing Guest information for the loyalty program * Audits daily punches to ensure accuracy and compliance with BABW payroll and timekeeping policies and procedures * Adheres to and enforces all BABW store security and cash management policies and procedures * Ensures store is always Grand Opening ready by following opening and closing procedures * Operates and maintains all IT systems in accordance with policies and procedures * Uses good judgment and partners with his/her Chief Workshop Manager to make necessary decisions within the company's guidelines * Insures compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as federal, state, local and provincial laws. * Communicates any Guest service and/or and associate issues to the Chief Workshop Manager in a timely fashion and collaborates on resolution of all issues Other Responsibilities: * Maintains the efficient and productive handling of all merchandise including shipment receipt and processing, floor sets, markdown optimization and replenishment systems while maintaining backroom Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) * Implements all visual merchandising plans and updates displays using BABW visual standard guidelines and store presentation tools * Ensures all safety policies and procedures are followed and accidents are reported timely * Partners with the Chief Workshop Manager in the execution of the short and long term store business plans to drive results, improve profitability and maximize business opportunities. * Participates in the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training of employees as delegated by the Chief Workshop Manager * Assists the Chief Workshop Manager to insure compliance with all Federal, State/Provincial and/or local laws and regulations that govern the store's operation * Uses good judgment and partners with his/her Chief Workshop Manager to make necessary decisions within the company's guidelines * Proactively seeks personal learning and development opportunities to build leadership skills and enhance individual performance * Other responsibilities as designated by management Qualifications: * Two + years of supervisory experience with a proven, successful track record in a customer centric business, preferably in restaurant or specialty retail business * Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
