PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Assists the Plant Manager with the supervision and leadership of the operations of the assigned location including personnel, scheduling, logistics, product handling, application services and customer satisfaction. Assists in the development and implementation of plans that maximize location profitability.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assists the Plant Manager with supervision of all operations, scheduling service on equipment and personnel at the assigned location.

Trains, coaches and counsels, employees to effectively develop individual talents and a team of professionals.

Schedules and performs maintenance of assigned equipment, rolling stock and facilities.

Leads personnel to follow all safe operating procedures and regulations.

Sets up material handling, blending, storage, transport and application equipment for blending and delivery of products. Blends products according to recommended rates and procedures.

Responsible for the inventory control and turns in application records daily. Assures all product is accounted for with either an invoice or delivery ticket.

Develops the skills necessary to hire, supervise, lead and develop a staff of assigned employees.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Supports and contributes to total company goals and objectives through collaboration efforts.

Responsible for adhering to the Company uniform policy and maintains the appropriate professional image.

Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

Normally requires an associate degree in an agricultural discipline, or the equivalent of 2+ years of agronomy operations related work experience or farming experience to demonstrate knowledge to effectively assist in the management of assigned facilities and personnel.

Functional Competencies

Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable certifications, licenses and permits.

Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant.

Must have and maintain a CDL driver's license with all required endorsements and a clean driving record.

Must have an maintain a State of Illinois Applicator License.

Occasionally exposed or required to:

  • Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, snow, ice, etc.)

  • Noisy conditions

  • Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures.

  • May be required to work at varying heights

  • Lift 51-70 lbs.

Understanding and experience in operations management, distribution, warehousing, inventory management.

Proven team building skills and the ability to work independently and, in a team-oriented environment.

Proven professional communication, customer service, persuasion, and presentation skills.

Demonstrated organization, planning skills, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Develops processes and procedures to improve internal control functions and efficiencies. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * Hires, fires, supervises, leads and develops employees that are employed at the Farmtown Facility. Maintains up-to-date job descriptions and performs annual performance reviews. If the need arises, creates and maintains documentation of any critical and pertinent discussion with team members. * Periodically schedules outside sources to provide certified product and equipment training to all employees. These training sessions should require testing and provide certificates showing completion. Trains employees to meet state, federal, and company regulatory and safety criteria. * Responsible for overseeing product ordering, receiving of product, profitable pricing, inventory control. * Responsible for submitting accurate deposits daily. * Schedules appointments, oversees job performance, and creates the work order for billing. Provides accurate unit numbers when doing work on company units. Requires complete purchase orders for all company work. * Handles all customer complaints in a timely and professional manner. * Responsible for the maintenance and appearance of the equipment, trucks and facilities. * Responsible to sell to customers at the location, by phone or in person. Provides a marketing schedule to the Energy Department Manager to assist in FS Farmtown profitability and sales flow. Promotes the use of member cooperative credit programs as a selling tool. Helps provide the required information to establish credit and works closely with the credit department in collection of accounts receivable. * Attends all required meetings and training programs. REQUIREMENTS Education and experience Normally requires a 2-year college degree and/or a certificate showing completion of an auto mechanics program. This includes the understanding and experience with mechanical diagnosis, service, repairs, and maintenance of vehicles. Demonstrate the proper knowledge of tires. Normally requires 5 or more years of sales and management experience to demonstrate operations management leadership. Must possess or be able to acquire and maintain a CDL driver's license.
