Supervisor's Title: Sr Director Finance, Dairy Operations
Exempt Status: Exempt
Southwest Cheese, the world's largest cheese/whey manufacturing facility, located in Clovis, New Mexico, is seeking a Plant Controller. The role is responsible for all financial matters at the site, including the monthly close process (IFRS and US GAAP), control environment, operational reporting/analysis and staff supervision/development.
Oversee all financial aspects of the site operations including financial and operational reporting, banking and budgeting/forecasting
Responsible for coordinating internal and external audits
Responsible for preparing a wide range of compliance reporting for City and State audit
Responsible for weekly production and cost reporting
Responsible for completing financial analysis and reports for numerous plant operational accounts
Responsible for monitoring compliance for procedures/internal controls relating to plant activity
Lead the Understanding Losses Pillar activity for the site
Assist in operational modeling (efficiencies, yields, mass balance, etc)
Participate in operational decision making, support with data based analysis
Responsible for capital expenditure project accounting including ROI analysis , project spend vs. plan, and fixed assets
Accountable for controlling and reconciling all plant inventories, including finished goods, ingredients, chemicals, packaging, membranes, and maintenance
Responsible for supervision and development of Operations Finance staff
Assist management with problem resolution
SAP site representative
Participate in special projects/action teams
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years related experience. A Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and/or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferable.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office, SAP and Business Objects, are required.
Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
