Kneaders Bakery and Cafe is currently hiring an Assistant Pastry Chef.

Kneaders is looking for highly motivated pastry chef with a desire to learn and grow. This is a great position for someone who loves to bake and cares about creating beautiful pastries. We want someone who can help us build the brand, develop others, and deliver results. Kneaders is growing quickly providing many opportunities for growth for those who excel and develop into an outstanding performer.


  • Join a crew of 3-5 pastry chefs in the daily production of 40+ pastries.

  • You must be able to read & follow instructions and corporate guidelines and recipes to meet exact standards

  • This is a high volume production environment and you must have a high sense of urgency.

  • Must be able to multi-task and thrive in a stressful environment. This is a very fast pace environment and must have a sense of urgency.

  • Professional cake decorating experience is not required but useful.


  • Pastry and baking experience, preferred but not required.

  • Culinary school is not a must, but a plus.

  • Must be quick with hands and be able to multi-task.

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs above waist.

  • Must pay attention to detail and follow corporate recipes and guidelines.

  • Must be able and willing to maintain a clean working environment.

  • Must be available to work between the hours of 4:30am and 11:30am.

  • Must work Fridays, Saturdays and Holidays. Holidays are peak times and no time off will be given.

  • Starting wage is $10-13 DOE

  • Must be able to give a 6 months - 1 year commitment

The Sous Chef assists in the development and implementation of current menu items and cooking techniques. This position is located in the Production Kitchen at the Arizona Student Unions. This position supervises the daily operation of a large production area. The candidate for this position must have extensive knowledge of Food and Beverage preparation and presentation and excellent interpersonal skills. The Arizona Student Unions consist of both the Student Union Memorial Center (SUMC) and the Park Student Union, as well as Highland Market and a number of convenience stores and food stops around campus. In addition to campus dining services and catering, the Arizona Student Unions also run mall scheduling, concessions at athletic events, Fast Copy & Design, the Union Galleries, Games Room, the Gallagher Theatre, a Wells Fargo, and a Post Office Contract Unit. The Student Union Memorial Center is one of the largest student unions in the United States. Duties & Responsibilities * Assumes complete charge of kitchen on respective shifts * Supervises and maintains cooking standards and techniques of line level employees.
