The University of Alaska Anchorage, School of Allied Health seeks an innovative, energetic individual who will work in a collaborative teaching environment in the delivery of Allied Health courses within the UAA Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) programs.

The faculty member appointed to this position will provide advising to prospective and current medical laboratory science students, didactic and laboratory education to students enrolled in the medical laboratory science programs. The program faculty member will be responsible for continued curriculum development, and academic expansion of the program.

This is a dynamic teaching position providing both lecture and robust student labs in areas of Immunology, Molecular Diagnostics, and Transfusion Medicine. Working with current faculty, you will also engage students outside the classroom in research, community outreach, and professional development.

The individual will have strong clinical bench laboratory skills supported by an advanced degree in clinical laboratory medicine, including Immunology. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to actively engage students and prospective students on the Medical Laboratory Science profession. Strong networking skills with clinical partners in the healthcare field.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years' generalist experience in clinical practice within the past ten years.

  • Minimum three years' experience teaching in the medical laboratory field

  • Current ASCP-BOC or ASCPi-BOC Medical Laboratory Science generalist certification

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in a health-related field.

  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in Medical Laboratory Science

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska Goose Lake Campus campus in Anchorage. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure track, faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
