Summary

Regis College is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor for the undergraduate program in Public Health. This position will focus on teaching, organizing and coordinating the bachelor's completion program in public health. They will advise the students in this program, provide online teaching and instruction to students, and collaborate with other faculty to promote an engaging learning environment.

Reporting to the undergraduate Public Health Program Director and the Dean of the School of Health Sciences, qualified applicants will have an earned doctorate in Public Health or related discipline and experience teaching at the undergraduate level. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience designing and teaching fully online courses, are able to teach across the public health curriculum, and have teaching or research experience related to global health. Essential Job Functions:

  • Advise bachelor completion students.

  • Design and teach fully online courses.

  • Respond to student email inquiries in a timely manner utilizing official university email account.

  • Teach, organize, and coordinate assigned online courses within the qualified discipline including curriculum maintenance, innovation of content, curriculum assessment, and documentation.

  • Assign grades and provide relevant, substantive, and value-added feedback in a timely manner (as described in the Faculty Handbook) through appropriate online classroom systems.

  • Engage in scholarly activity appropriate to the discipline such as publishing, presenting at national, regional, and local conferences, conducting research and/or grant writing and related activities.

  • Participate in regular meetings and faculty development opportunities.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Terminal degree in public health.

  • At least 2 - 5 years of experience with university level online teaching preferred.

  • Ability to uphold the University's commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret public health periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in temperature, noise, odors, etc.

  • May spend extended periods at terminal, on telephone, or operating other office machines, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
