SUMMARY

The Assistant Manager will be initiative-taking and hands-on with robust experience in warehouse management, dedicated to being actively involved on the floor. Skilled in overseeing daily operations, optimizing logistics processes, and ensuring seamless workflow from receipt to dispatch.

Proven history in managing inventory, supervising staff, and enforcing safety protocols to boost operational efficiency and minimize costs. Proficient with warehouse management software for tracking shipments, monitoring stock levels, and production performance reports. Committed to maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction through continuous on-the-floor presence and engagement.

The role will manage multiple support locations/functions that will assist in the execution of objectives while maintaining a high level of integrity and accuracy related to inventory control. They will be skilled in continuous improvement to execute and improve processes as needed. As the Assistant Operations manager, the ideal candidate drives the performance of the operations to ensure optimum levels of productivity and quality while maintaining safe work environment for all employees.

This includes but is not limited to having the correct product at the correct time in the correct place. Travel requirements of 25% or less.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise Daily Operations: Oversee the day-to-day activities of the warehouse, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

Floor Management: Maintain a continuous presence on the warehouse floor to monitor processes, address issues, and support staff.

Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and ensure accurate record-keeping.

Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with regulations.

Process Optimization: Identify areas for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Quality Assurance: Ensure that all goods received and dispatched meet quality standards and customer specifications.

Coordination: Coordinate with logistics/SCM to ensure timely and accurate shipment of goods.

Performance Reporting: Generate and analyze performance reports to monitor key metrics and identify areas for improvement.

Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment to ensure operational readiness.

Customer Service: Address and resolve customer inquiries and issues related to warehouse operations. Effectively communicate with all support areas

Budget Management: Assist in budget preparation and monitor expenses to stay within budgetary constraints. Consult and correspond with leaders or managers to rectify problems/improvement ideas.

Compliance Monitoring: Ensure adherence to company policies and legal requirements in all warehouse activities.

Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence and achieve strategic goals.

  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage a team of warehouse employees, including hiring, scheduling, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions. A minimum of 3 - 5 years of supervisory required.

CERTIFICATIONS Preferred but not Required: Certified Warehouse Logistics Professional, Certified Supply Chain Professional, Certified in Production and Inventory Management, OSHA Certification, Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Certification, Certified Logistics Transportation, and Distribution.

Bachelor's degree in a related field of Business Administration, Operations Management, or Supply Chain More than 6 years of experience in an operations distribution role for a Tier l or Tier ll automotive supplier.
