Assistant Nurse Manager - Med Surg 4SW Fort Thomas Full Time 1St Shift

Responsibilities

The Assistant Nurse Manager is a registered professional nurse who provides an associate management role for a unit/department. This position provides direct nursing care as well as unit leadership. In the absence of the Nurse Manager, is operationally responsible for the unit/department and for the quality of care delivered 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

ANM's accepted into role without BSN must complete BSN within two years or by 12/31/2020 whichever comes first. After 12/31/2020, BSN required.

Graduate of accredited school of Nursing

Licensed to practice nursing in the State where work is performed

Meets contact hour requirements for licensure, including all state required courses.

Certification in their specialty and/or nurse executive

Specialized Knowledge:

Ability to direct self & others, aware of nursing standards, evidence based practice, policies and procedures. Demonstrates clinical proficiency relevant to the area of responsibility, rapid decision making and critical thinking skills

Knowledge of management theory, leadership concepts and the institution's missions, vision, values and ethical standards.

Kind and Length of Experience:

Two years of experience in clinical area of responsibility required. Experience relevant to the specific clinical area(s).

Experience as a charge nurse, team leader and/or Assistant Nurse Manager.
