Schedule: Full Time-40hrs/week- to be discussed with manager- generally 5 days/ week

open to 4x10hrs or 5x8hrs-- no 12hrs

$37.64 - $55.39/hr

Responsible for developing, achieving and maintaining the goals of a unit or department by focusing on the unit or department's daily operations. Consistently promotes a positive work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers. Collaboratively works with nurse leaders in maintaining productivity, supporting hospital initiatives and ensuring units/departments are appropriately staffed. Will assist in identifying staff development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.

Day to day duties: Round on units, help when needed. Prefer they wear a uniform since they are clinical (Provided Hospital Scrubs- unless there is something special or like meeting day), Attend meetings. Complete Occurrence reports, attend safety huddle. Work on staffing, requisitions if needed, productivity to make sure staffing is accurate. Give lunch/breaks in OR when needed.

What You Bring/Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

  • 2 years clinical RN experience
  • 6 months
  • 1 year clinical leadership experience, preferred
  • A degree in nursing (BSN or MSN), required

  • High School GED required

  • RN License to practice in Colorado or Kansas as applicable

  • BLS from the American Heart Association required

  • Ortho and Spine experience highly preferred.

  • Additional Life Support Certifications per Department Standards; e.g. NRP, EFM, TNCC, etc.

  • Appropriate facility identified national certification within one year of becoming ANM strongly preferred.

  • Credential: ANM-ANCC Approved.

  • Clinical and/or Leadership Certification strongly preferred.

  • Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

The Surgery department at Porter Adventist Hospital has 21 Operating Room (OR) suites, including a hybrid suite. The OR specializes in total joint replacement, complex spine, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant, ophthalmic, DaVinci general and cardiac , orthopedic, and spine robotics, ENT, and general surgery. Transplants include liver, living related kidney, and paired kidney exchanges. The OR does many high acuity, complex surgical cases. This position provides the opportunity to join a specialty surgical team which promotes a high level of expertise within each service line.

"We're one of the premier transplant facilities in the country, 3x Magnet designated facility. We're a busy OR that sees approx. 600 cases per month. The OR specializes in total joint replacement, complex spine, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant, ophthalmic, DaVinci general and cardiac, orthopedic, and spine robotics, ENT, and general surgery. Transplants include liver, living related kidney, and paired kidney exchanges. The OR does many high acuity, complex surgical cases.
