Assistant Nurse Manager-Observation/Overflow

Stamford Health is looking for an Assistant Nurse Manager to join their exciting new department, Observation/Overflow!

The Assistant Nurse Manager is a key leadership role that provides clinical oversight and coordination of nursing operations on assigned shifts and units. They are responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, positive patient experience, and financially responsible operations, while also promoting a culture of safety, respect, and teamwork.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm, rotating weekends

Here are the key responsibilities and expectations:

Clinical Leadership:

• Provides clinical supervision to nursing staff on assigned shift and unit(s)

• Coordinates unit clinical operations with other departmental disciplines

• Oversees patient care and nursing practice on assigned shift and unit(s)

Accountability:

• Responsible for delivering high-quality clinical outcomes

• Focuses on positive patient experience

• Ensures financially responsible operations

• Acts as a leadership extension of the Nurse Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivers high-quality patient care

• Engages with staff in a consistent and effective manner

• Coordinates with other departments to ensure seamless care delivery

• Adheres to hospital policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program

Hospital Culture:

• Provides safe and therapeutic care

• Demonstrates values inherent in the hospital culture

• At least 3 years recent clinical experience

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing

• Current CT RN License

• Clinical specialty or leadership certification strongly preferred.
