Headquartered in Lynnwood, Washington, Zumiez operates over 700 stores in North America, Europe, and Australia. We operate under Zumiez in North America, Blue Tomato in Europe, and Fast Times in Australia.

The Zumiez Product and Brand Services (PBS) team is responsible for over 30 unique brands spanning various categories, including men's and women's apparel, accessories, and snow/skate hardgoods. These brands are comprised of private label, licensed, and owned brands.

Position Purpose

The PBS Assistant Product Merchandiser is an important position for the operation of the Private Label Merchandising team. Responsible for assisting in the merchandising and calendar processes, working cross-departmentally with design, production, buying, and project coordinators. This position requires a self-starter and a willingness to pitch in and do what's needed within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Flexibility, a sense of urgency, and attention to detail are critical success factors in this position.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist PBS Merchandise Manager in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly sales reporting

• Assist with building and maintaining creative catalog, product line sheets, and visual sales reporting and data tools. Ensure that any adjustments are communicated to the appropriate business partners

• Assist with calendar/product/sample needs

• Learn and become proficient in Zumiez proprietary reporting systems

• Assist Merchandise Manager with meeting preparation and building effective meeting recaps for cross-functional partners

• Effectively communicate and collaborate with various internal partners

• Assist Merchandise Manager and Concept Designer with presenting seasonal product assortments that meet financial targets and maximize the divisional objectives

• Build and demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the competitive environment

• Assist the Design Team with various administrative duties when needed

• Knowledge of company & departmental performance and department initiatives

• Adheres to project deadlines and expectations assigned by Manager

• Other duties as assigned by Manager

Requirements:

• 1 to 3 years of retail, buying, or line planning experience

• Bachelor's degree preferred or a combination of equivalent education and work experience

• Understanding and application of retail math and business analysis

• Strong time management and organizational skills

• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite and ability to understand and master propriety buying programs

• Able to travel domestically

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Ability to sit/stand in a stationary position in an office environment for extended periods and work on a Mac or PC without limitations. Must be able to distinguish colors and inspect material on the product.
