Role Summary

Plans and forecasts for future merchandise buys based on historical buys, reoccurring buys and current inventory levels. Responsible for reviewing stock to sales ratios, responding to changing sales trends, and ensuring plan sales, plan markups and AOI target achieved by departments. Plans and coordinates merchandise flow-through. Inputs and maintains data in various merchandising systems.

Specific Functions/Activities Summary

  • Analyze daily / weekly sales reports and propose product movement and rotation.

  • Monitors inventory levels based on seasonal sales plan and provides recommendations based on actual sales to ensure inventory turn and minimal carry/over and markdown liabilities.

  • Assist the Director of P&A to provide business owners with the necessary analytical framework to evaluate the financial aspects of the business.

  • Manages 3rd party warehouse / distribution facility for large shipments distributed to both internal and external clients.

  • Responsible for tracking purchase orders/inventory from PO creation to distribution center

  • Maintain inventory flow, store capacities, new store goals

  • Reviews space allocation and fixture usage to maximize sales

  • Ensure product flow to stores & maintain in stock levels

  • Assist with creation of purchase orders and sku's in Eatec and Appetize

  • Recommend new strategies to improve the overall penetration rate in all MSG venues (MSG & Radio City) within and beyond current merchandise sales outlets.

Qualifications

  • Candidates who have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.

  • 1-2 years minimum experience working in a sports or retail customer service management capacity within a merchandise operation of a high-volume outlet with Profit & Loss responsibility.

  • Must have the ability to execute multiple tasks in a high-pressured environment along with the ability to oversee multiple projects and ensure the highest quality standards.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented; effective organizational skills and extremely comfortable with working with large data sets and managing high volumes of files and paperwork within a manual system.

  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data to extract insights.

  • A demonstrated ability to collaborate within a team. Vocal in surfacing issues that need attention

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail; adept at translating quantitative data into qualitative recommendations.

  • Intellectually curious and proactive; demonstrate creativity and flexibility for addressing new business challenges.

  • Aggressive and independent approach to all aspects of managing the business and shows initiative to drive results.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently in a fast paced, unpredictable environment

  • PC Skills including Excel, Pivot Tables, Word, PowerPoint

  • Proficient in Oracle, People Soft, Crystal Reports, TM1, Puridiom, and Eatec (Plus)

Education
