Viterbo University is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to serve as a part-time Assistant Men's Soccer Coach and Head Reserve Coach. This position will work closely with the head coach to assist in all aspects of the men's soccer program, with a primary focus on leading the reserve team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about soccer, possess excellent coaching skills, and have a strong commitment to the development of student-athletes both on and off the field. This position has been approved for one-year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the reserve team's training sessions, ensuring a productive and supportive environment for player development.

  • Assist the head coach in planning and implementing practice sessions, drills, and game strategies for the first team.

  • Provide individualized coaching and feedback to players to enhance their technical skills, tactical understanding, and overall performance.

  • Collaborate with coaching staff to recruit and retain talented student-athletes for the men's soccer program.

  • Assist in scouting opponents and analyzing game footage to prepare game plans and strategies.

  • Promote a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic excellence.

  • Assist in scheduling and other team operations such as fundraising, camps, ect.

  • Know and support the five core values of the NAIA Champions of Character initiative.

  • Support and adhere to all Viterbo University, NAIA and CCAC rules and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Previous coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of soccer techniques, tactics, and strategies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their full potential.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a coaching team.

  • Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.

  • The position will require evening and weekend hours during the soccer season.

  • Must be able to travel for away games as needed.

  • Applicants must possess a valid drivers license.
