Lawrence University is seeking a part-time assistant coach for our men's ice hockey program. We are an established program in one of the strongest hockey conferences in Division III looking for an assistant coach with the knowledge, background, and excitement to help guide a successful collegiate hockey program at Lawrence University, an academically rigorous institution.
The Assistant Men's Ice Hockey Coach will assist the Head Coach with all duties of successfully operating our men's ice hockey program, including but not limited to recruiting student-athletes, and assisting with training sessions/game preparation/game-day coaching.
Lawrence University is a member of the NCAA Division III, Midwest Conference, Northern Collegiate Hockey Association, and Midwest Fencing Conference. Lawrence fields teams in 21 intercollegiate sports with approximately 325 scholar-athletes and is committed to a well-balanced program promoting excellence in both academics and athletics.

This position reports to the Head Men's Ice Hockey Coach. The position receives specific assignments from and assists the Head Coach in performing any or all of the duties listed below:
Plan and direct athletics skill development for student-athletes.
Recruit student-athletes compatible with Lawrence University's mission and the specific goals of the men's ice hockey program.
Assist in developing pre-season, in-season and off-season training for the team with the Head Coach and Athletic Performance Coach.
Assist in advising student-athletes and staff of applicable NCAA, MWC, and basketball specific rules, regulations, and University policies and ensure compliance of such regulations.
Ensure appropriate safety measures are observed when conducting team activities.
Cooperate with the University Athletic Trainers to ensure student-athletes receive proper medical and physical training services.
Assist Head Coach in scouting reports and game analysis (video).
Help coordinate activities in preparation for scheduled competition.
Attend team practices and home and away contests.
Assume responsibility to student-athlete compliance with all applicable rules and regulations. Assist the Head Coach and the Athletics Director in resolving cases where a student-athlete violates an applicable regulation.
Successful coaching or playing experience.
Ability to recruit qualified student-athletes.
Bachelor's degree required.
