Under the direction of the Head Men's Basketball Coach, provide assistance and support relating to the Men's Basketball program at Utah Tech University (UT). Provide information and evaluation regarding recruits, roster development, and game personnel. Responsible for all equipment relating to the Men's Basketball program.   • Provide leadership in the academic, personal, and athletic development of student-athletes at UT.

  • Planning, organizing, and coaching of the UT Men's Basketball team; ensuring compliance by all coaches and student-athletes with University, Conference, and NCAA procedures and regulations.

  • Create an atmosphere and recruit student-athletes for the program that fits UT and NCAA philosophies for Athletics.

  • Compose game schedules and organize team travel arrangements.

  • Initiate Men's Basketball team specific fundraising programs; direct Utah Tech Men's Basketball camps.

  • Determine fiscal requirements and recommend budget to Athletic administration; monitor, verify, and reconcile expenditures of budgeted funds.

  • Purchase and maintain basketball equipment; inspect practice facilities and equipment regularly.

  • Support fundraising responsibilities within the Athletic department and be an active member of the Southern Utah community.

  • Monitor academic progress of student-athletes; guide and supervise student-athletes relating to dormitory living and campus regulations.

  • Provide reports and information concerning the Men's Basketball program.

  • Ensure compliance with all NCAA and UT rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Aid and assist the members of the institution in any aspect of NCAA compliance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Three (3) years NCAA basketball coaching experience required, preferably at the Division I level.

  • Ability to recruit students at the NCAA level.

  • Proven commitment to academic and athletic success.

  • Ability to represent the University in exercising good human relation skills in the community and state.

  • Proven ability to assist in Athletic fundraising events, corporate sponsorships and scholarships.

  • Ability to exercise critical human relations in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with students, faculty, staff, and the public.

  • Ability to communicate effectively.

  • Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions.

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time "at will" athletic coach position, as defined by University Policy 328. Annual salary of $40,000-$43,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Desired start date of July/August 2024.
