Required Qualifications

• Advanced degree: D.O. or M.D.

• Certification, professional license, or credential:

• DEA Certification or eligibility

• New York State License or eligibility.

• Board certified in Family/Internal Medicine/Pediatrics

• Three to five years of post-doctoral direct clinical experience

• At least 1 year of clinical-administrative/leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in higher education health care

• Prior experience with Pyramed electronic record

• Procedural skills e.g. suturing, incision and drainage, IUD insertions.

• Experience in Gender Affirming Care provision

• Familiarity with assessment of Eating Disorders

• EMS experience

• Skills consistent with delivery of high quality primary health care including mental health services

• Have an understanding of young adult contemporary healthcare issues and the skills to work effectively with a college-age population, international students, faculty, and staff

• Outstanding communications skills, oral, written, and digital including the ability to convey clinical information in accessible terms to diverse audiences

• Proven ability to work with a diversity of staff in achieving high quality patient care

• High emotional intelligence a commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards

• Proficiency with electronic medical record applications and office productivity software

• Ability to manage and maintain confidential and private information; uses confidential, sensitive and/or private records and information, protects information appropriately

• Ability to establish, build and maintain effective working relationships based on respect, empathy and honesty with diverse groups and individuals

• Knowledge of Deaf culture, American Sign Language (ASL), or willingness to learn (dual competency, see communication above)

Job Summary

The Assistant Medical Director, Physician plays a pivotal role in shaping the health and well-being of our vibrant Rochester Institute of Technology student community. Reporting directly to the Medical Director, you'll dive into a multifaceted position that blends direct patient care, clinical leadership, and campus-wide health advocacy. From providing primary care services to overseeing clinical protocols and spearheading quality improvement initiatives, you'll be at the forefront of healthcare innovation. With a robust ethos of continuous improvement, you'll collaborate closely with our dedicated team to ensure the highest standards of care for over 15,000 undergraduate and graduate students, including a significant population from the National Technical Institute for the Deaf. We prioritize wellness, foster inclusivity, and are focused on the needs of our students.
