Town & Country is looking for a detail-oriented, extremely organized assistant managing editor. This position reports to the brand editor-in-chief and the executive managing editor.

Key responsibilities are to manage the magazine's editorial production process, ensuring that deadlines are met. Will be responsible for creating and updating the editorial lineup as well as making sure that future issues are planned. This position works closely with the copy, art, and editorial teams as well as interdepartmental groups such as advertising and PubWorx on book makeup and production issues.

Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate must have excellent communications skills and be able to work with all departments by developing schedules and enforcing deadlines to ensure a smooth, on-time production cycle each issue. Will work closely with the editor-in-chief and the publishing side on book makeup; will manage the magazine's workflow, tracking copy, layouts, and artwork; and will ship files to the Premedia department of Pubworx, as well as work with the Imaging team on trafficking hi-res images and quality control.

This role handles technical issues related to covers; maintains templates; troubleshoots computer problems; monitors maintenance of printers and manages the servers; and files the copyright for the brand. The AME is also responsible for all hardware inventory and will work with the EME to maintain the hardware budget.

Experience:

Candidates must have at least 5 years of professional consumer magazine editorial and production experience, along with some department management experience; iPad production experience a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Must have proficiency in Adobe CS (InDesign/Photoshop) and WoodWing workflow system. NOTE: For consideration, resumes must be submitted in PDF format with a cover letter and salary requirements.
