Lead and manage process engineers in an automotive sheet metal assembly environment. Responsible for constant monitoring of safety, quality, cost, and productivity while initiating daily improvement activities. Interact and coordinate within a cross functional environment including other departments, support, and control groups.
Initiate and lead activities and projects aligned with the Welding department's business goals and objectives.
Manage, coordinate, and follow-up with direct reports; streamline, improve, and increase efficiency of process group.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with Team Members and management, improving maintenance/production interaction.
Control costs within specific budgets; expense, capital, projects - develop cost improvement ideas and lead implementation.
Initiate and complete reports tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other administrative tasks as required.
Ensure Team Member compliance with company policies and procedures.
Recommend methods for improving utilization in Moving Lines and Body Complete Lines.
Provide technical direction/assistance to identify, troubleshoot problems related to moving part hemming operations (i.e. hem out, surface appearance, hem sealer applications).
Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished product.
Plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts to promote efficient utilization.
Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
Conduct Body CMM data analysis by model and set-up countermeasures.
Make plans for complementary investment items and expense budget.
Lead weekly body accuracy meeting (Supplier, Quality Control, Process Engineering).
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.
Lead and manage dimensional improvement activities for complete vehicle fit & finish.
Develop, monitor, and maintain detailed moving part dimensional accuracy program to ensure high capability and repeatability.
Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and to make recommendations to maintenance personnel.
Provide technical direction/assistance to identify, troubleshoot problems, purpose countermeasures/solutions, and resolve issues.
Manage special projects for new tooling and process improvements for production through successful completion.
Administer and control practices of engineers in the areas of safety, human relations, quality, cost, housekeeping, and delivery targets for new model process development.
Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.

5 - 10 years of job related experience
3 years of Process Engineering, Quality Control experience
Top Table and Roller Hemming experience
Jig and Fixture Maintenance experience
Robotic Welding (Resistant Weld, MIG Weld, Brazing Weld) experience
PLC (AB) experience
Robot (Fanuc) experience
Skills / Knowledge:
MS Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
Auto Cad, Catia V5, Polyworks
SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) operation and analysis
3D scanning and analysis, background in GD and T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing - Dimensional Control)
Knowledge in structural material and design
Additional Information: Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
