Primary Purpose:
To assist the manager in improving student discipline management and all other areas pertaining to the efficient daily operations of The Student Services Department
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents and community
Knowledge of district policies and procedures relevant to the functions of this position
Written and verbal communication skills needed for regulation interpretation, information dissemination, and collaboration with district staff and external partners
Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills
Strong computer skills and an ability to interpret data
Experience:
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Program Management
Develop and present student code of conduct, discipline processes, provide training for campus administrators, registrars, and campus-level accountability staff.
Develop and support student enrollment strategies, events, and campaigns.
Collaborate with District Data Facilitator on student leave codes.
Assist with the district dropout prevention and recovery plans.
Provide guidance and support to campus administrators regarding student discipline.
Assist campus staff with discipline accountability reporting.
Process and oversee all aspects of student transfers.
Train and Conduct level 2 student discipline appeals.
Assist with student legal requirements such as Title IX, subpoenas, and TPIA requests.
Train campus administrators to conduct felony hearings for students reported to be involved in felonious acts when needed.
Submit monthly reports, semester reports, and end-of-year reports to the Manager of Student Services.
Policy, Reports, and Law
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations.
Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local board policy.
Other
Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet Alief's current and future needs.
Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of Professional Non-Supervisor Personnel.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals
Posture: Standing, prolonged sitting, occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; may also require climbing stairs and reaching over head
Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds); May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent district wide travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

Salary Range: Min-$76,570 Mid-$91,443 Max-106,314 (Based on previous experience)
