Description: As an Assistant General Manager (AGM) at McAlister's, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales, managing inventory, enhancing customer relations, and overseeing personnel. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of both the Front of House and Back of House, displaying comprehensive knowledge of restaurant equipment usage, and effectively managing all aspects of management, technical, and training tasks.

Qualifications: Minimum of two years of proven experience in managing others in a restaurant setting.

  • Certification of completion in all areas of the McAlister's Management Training Program.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with and lead a team.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Proficiency in managing inventory, sales, and customer relations.

  • State-approved Serve Safe License - Must be maintained per State Mandates.

  • Ensures product preparation and presentation meet McAlister's standards.

  • Cultivates a culture within the hourly team members that promotes ARG and McAlister's Deli.

  • Promotes and maintains restaurant organization, cleanliness, and orderliness based on McAlister's guidelines.

  • Actively participates in community engagement to increase sales and brand awareness.

  • Always ensures 100% guest satisfaction.

Manages Team Members Daily Performance:

  • Ensures quality recruitment and hiring of team members.

  • Adheres to and promotes the McAlister's training program.

  • Develops an environment that fosters growth and development for all team members.

  • Ensures acceptable performance by all team members in line with ARG Handbook and McAlister's standards.

  • Implements proper accountability and documentation processes for team members not meeting guidelines.

Controls and Financial Responsibility:

  • Focuses on McAlister's Deli Catering program with a clear catering emphasis.

  • Maintains control and assets of the company.

  • Ensures the team meets or exceeds daily operating sales goals.

  • Analyzes and addresses goals set forth with GM for any shortfalls.

  • Assists with weekly inventory controls and ordering.

Requirements:

  • Serves as a role model for all team members.

  • Develops goals and action plans for personal and professional growth.

  • Performs duties which require bending and reaching.

  • Lifts and transports up to 25-pound containers, dish racks, and trash cans.

  • Stands and/or walks for up to 9+ hours.

  • Practices/coaches all safety and sanitation standards.

  • Completes all assigned tasks in a timely manner as directed by the General Manager.

  • Maintains a well-groomed appearance and follows uniform standards.

  • Remains calm in a sometimes fast-paced atmosphere.

  • Demonstrates a high level of organization, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.

  • Displays a positive and outwardly friendly attitude towards all guests.

  • Lives the McAlister's Touch.

Availability

Number of Hours Per Week: Typically, a 50+ hour work week; consisting of 9-10 hour shifts. Must be available to work any day of the week, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Two (2) days off per week are provided, but not guaranteed to be consecutive. Hours of work, shifts, and days worked per week may vary periodically based on operational needs.

  • We're a no grease establishment! Our work environment is clean and safe. No char broilers, fryers, or flattop grills

  • No late nights. All our restaurants are closed by 9:00 p.m.
