JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Quality Assurance Engineer (Supplier Technical Assistance)

Reports To: Factory Quality Manager

Role Type: Individual Contributor

Location: Bangalore (Factory)

Purpose of the role:

• Establish, develop, maintain & improve product quality as per SKF standards and practices

• Install, maintain, and improve Quality Management System for Factory

• Drive Built in Quality Approach to ensure Zero Defect.

• Develops supplier base Quality and Strategy

Responsibilities:

• Initiate, follow up, and implement Quality targets and improvement plans as per the Business Plan and Scorecard

• Improve Supplier by technically assisting to ensure defect-free supplies

• Maintain Quality Management System (QMS). Update and compile the quality system handbook.

• Plan and perform Internal process and Quality system audits at supplier end and also internal processes

• Initiate and carry out improvement activities to improve product quality through Built-in-Quality ( BIQ) approach.

• Take corrective and preventive actions for complaints received.

• Motivate and lead the Quality Workmen team for continuous improvement.

• Support PPAP of new product.

• Perform process and gauge capabilities studies (for existing as well as new equipment/machines) and take corrective actions wherever necessary.

• Prepare and coordinate -Supplier Audits, IATF 16949 audits, customer audits, process audits, internal audits.

• Participate in the change review committee & manufacturing release of new products & all major process changes.

• Implement SKF Production System practices in the department.

Education & Experience

• Graduate in Engineering

• Around 6-7 years of experience in Quality and supplier development with exposure to the manufacturing environment.

• Turning, Heat Treatment and Grinding knowledge

• Certified IATF Internal auditor would be added advantage
