DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Leads product marketing and promotion initiatives in collaboration with campaign planning teams and leads.
Serves as product lead on campaign task force in support of key launch titles.
Trains and provides oversight and direction to Product Marketing Specialists and Product Marketing Coordinators.
Works with department leadership as necessary to prepare Sales, Marketing and Live Services teams for successful product releases through game demonstrations, product analysis, support materials, etc.
Leads key product, promotional and other activities in support of product launches, community outreach and key branding initiatives. Works with management to identify strategy and approach.
Works closely with documentation from Nintendo Company Limited (NCL) and NCL contacts, understanding input, marketing focus, and results from Japanese and European markets and helps coordinate global promotional activities.
Balances input and feedback from Nintendo of America Inc. (NOA) executives, NCL management, development teams, North American market factors, Product Development (Treehouse) input, and product knowledge for successful product launches in North America.
Provides insight into key product features, writes product marketing brief and prepares comprehensive product content outlines and supports all marketing and promotion activities to ensure approved and accurate representation of product content and strategy.
Provides product information roll-out plan and collaborates with Sales, Marketing and Live Services teams on implementation plans.
Proactively recommend solutions from vast array of information across multiple business partners
Writes consumer-facing marketing copy for use on Nintendo and retailer websites and Nintendo's eShop and digital storefronts.
Reviews all materials to assure compliance with guidelines, rollout and consistency in messaging.
Advises TV, digital and print advertising creative, providing feedback on content and product accuracy. Actively supports production of advertising creative in the role of product expert and collaborates on selection of game assets for inclusion in final advertising.
Collaboratively leads creation of consumer-facing trailers and other video assets designed to communicate key product features including pre-produced videos and video livestreams like Nintendo Treehouse Live. May include hosting or starring in videos.
Coordinates closely with Live Services team to lead department planning and marketing support for digital titles.
Facilitates communication for localization and approvals with external business partners.
Provides insight and data-based analysis of both domestic and overseas markets. Makes strategic recommendations based on identified trends and opportunities.
Educates internal teams and external agency partners on product features. Demonstrates products to internal teams, external partners, media and consumers.
Evaluates games for quality and marketability and writes product evaluation reports.
Maintains competitive knowledge of marketplace, monitors consumer reaction to assigned products, monitors effectiveness of PR activities and provides analytical reports on game market data.
Represents Nintendo as an official corporate spokesperson responsible for presenting products to consumers and media in videos, livestreams and live presentations. Meets with media to present and discuss products. May participate in media interviews and roundtable discussions. Responsible for understanding key consumer-facing messaging for assigned projects as well as corporate messaging priorities.
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS
Five to seven years of related experience
Japanese bilingual ability preferred
Bilingual positions require native level fluency in English and Japanese with strong bilingual spoken and written skills
Strong written and strong verbal communication skills, including experience writing consumer-facing marketing copy
Strong public speaking and presentation skills
Strong knowledge and understanding of industry and Nintendo history
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely, cooperatively, and effectively with Brand IP holder, NOA departments and with parent company required
Excellent game play skills
Undergraduate degree in Business or applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid passport is required
Bilingual positions require native Japanese fluency or JLPT (Japanese-Language Proficiency test) Level 1 or equivalent proficiency
