Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

As a Process Engineer at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd in the Manufacturing Division, you will play a crucial role in leading the process planning, operation, and implementation for CNC machining and die assembly. Your focus will be on optimizing die manufacturing processes, reducing costs, and enhancing sustainability. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will drive initiatives to maximize profitability while maintaining the highest standards of quality, cost efficiency, and throughput.

  • Optimize Die Manufacturing Processes: You will lead the optimization of processes for CNC machining, assembly, and finishing in die manufacturing to ensure efficient and high-quality production.
  • Conduct Process Capability Studies: Your role will involve conducting thorough process capability studies to guarantee the final product's quality and adherence to industry standards.
  • Implement Best Practices: By researching, benchmarking, and implementing industry best practices, you will contribute to enhancing quality, reducing costs, and improving throughput in die manufacturing.
  • Process Review and Analysis: Analyzing work content, reviewing existing processes, and suggesting improvements for productivity and cost efficiency will be part of your regular tasks.
  • Process Simulation and Optimization: Utilizing simulations, Value Analysis & Value Engineering (VA & VE), and recommending system upgrades to optimize processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Tool Validation and Cost Management: Ensuring that tools and equipment meet process requirements while effectively managing project costs and timelines.
  • Documentation and Standards: Developing and maintaining technical documents such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Process Sheets, and ensuring compliance to achieve desired results.
  • Benchmarking & Innovation: Continuously benchmarking and recommending best practices in the tooling industry to drive innovation and process enhancements.

Education Qualification

The ideal candidate for this role should possess a BE in Mechanical Engineering or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Your educational background in mechanical engineering will provide you with the foundational knowledge required to excel in this role and contribute effectively to the die manufacturing processes at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.

General Experience

To succeed in this position, you should hold a degree with 4-5 years of experience or a diploma with 6-8 years of experience in the mechanical engineering field. Your previous experience should demonstrate a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, CNC machining, and die assembly.

Critical Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of press tools, dies, and die manufacturing processes.
  • Expertise in CNC machines, cutting tools, and machining parameters.
  • Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and related process standards.
  • Experience in conducting process simulations and applying engineering methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems and tools.
  • Working knowledge of process engineering software and simulation tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under time and cost constraints.
