As an HR Generalist you will provide staff support to the Human Resources Manager in the areas of labor and employee relations, recruitment, ongoing staffing, and general human resources. In this role you will coordinate labor relations responsibilities, which include day to day contract administration, contract interpretation, and grievance resolution or response. This role will provide support to hourly employees, supervisors, and managers with contract administration or general HR questions/issues. Primary Responsibilities: * Perform day to day contract administration, working closely with supervisors, hourly employees, shop stewards, and department managers with contract interpretation. Research and provide information as necessary to prepare for contract negotiations. Participate in contract negotiations as needed. * Work with supervisors to assist them in providing grievance responses to employees. Research, meet, and respond with union representatives and management to resolve grievances prior to arbitration. Work with the outside labor relations attorney as necessary. Make recommendations to HR Manager on those grievances not resolved. Assist HR Manager in preparation for any grievance arbitration, and participate as necessary. Maintain log of all grievance activity. * Support supervisors and participate in the investigation and recommendation of all disciplinary measures. Maintain log of all disciplinary activity. * Monitor and coordinate all hourly staffing, Communicate with supervisors and managers on a regular basis to ensure that proper staffing is maintained to support production needs. * Maintain the HR/Payroll system by inputting new employee information, changes, and terminations and supplying this information to payroll. Provide reports of employee data as needed. Basic Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required. Experience (Years/Type): * 2+ years of human resources/ employee relations experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, military, or related environment.
