BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE POSITION The primary purposes of this position are to provide clinical leadership, to direct patient care for the assigned unit, and to work cooperatively with the interdisciplinary health care team to maintain standards of nursing care within the framework of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.# The Assistant Manager will support and collaborate with the Unit Director (UD) and serve as the first line of communication between staff and management. Serves as an active member of the leadership team, working with the UD to ensure the clinical and budgetary efficiency of the department. Provides UD with information for development of annual budget.# Completed through assessing needs for personnel, supplies, equipment, and physical facilities for budget planning. Provides clinical coverage in the absence of the Unit Director Participates in an on-call coverage rotation with the stepdown leadership team Provides direct patient care when needed Evaluates and ensures clinical staffing coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. Supervises, evaluates, guides and counsels# staff in their work performance. Participates in action planning for staff development. Participates in clinical conferences, workshops, seminars, and related forums. EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Minimum Education/Experience Graduate of state board approved School of Nursing.
