Assist manager with any and all duties, and act in his/her place when he/she is not present
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Must be able to produce a level of sales required by management and Havertys policy by serving customers, selling products, and performing all duties required of a Sales Associate.
May assist in sales training of sales staff
May supervise the sales department and hold sales meetings. Follow-up prospecting and scheduling
May communicate with inventory control and assist in ordering
May perform code changes on floor to include retagging merchandise
May oversee customer service and handle difficult complaints
May oversee display of floor and supervise merchandise on and off floor
May assist in moving furniture around the showroom floor
May help sales associates close sales
May assist with credit applications and credit memos
May assist manager in personnel matters and discipline
May assist manager with advertising plans and help to execute them
May assist manager with merchandising, customer service, office duties, delivery operations and scheduling
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have sales and furniture knowledge.
Computer literacy required with Microsoft Office experience preferred.
Must be detail-oriented and excellent communication skills.
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
Must be able to work independently while using discretion
