Location: Buffalo, NY

Position Purpose:

Responsible for supervising global sources of freight and logistics for Buffalo Basco-Schmidt to enhance our competitive advantage.

Responsible for leading efforts to maintain import and export compliance practices for Buffalo Basco-Schmidt. Pay range $65,000-$75,000.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise his/her shipping ERP transactions and direct reports.

• Follow up his/her assigned daily shipments.

• Work closely with the following: Freight & Logistics Manager, other shipping clerks, Aftermarket Sales Group, Production Planners & Supervisors, Program Managers, Inventory Control Supervisors and Safety Manager.

• Follow up the proper INCO terms as per customer's contract agreement.

• Maintain accurate records for shipment status.

• Negotiation and assurance of compliance with all carrier costs including weight charges, storage fees, international tariffs.

• Understand customs requirements.

• Develop good compliance practices, train personnel, execute audits.

• Stay abreast of all regulatory changes that affect Buffalo Basco-Schmidt.

• Additional responsibilities:

• Enforce practices, policy compliance.

• Improve company's performance in delivering the goods to the customer.

• Works on cost reduction efforts as it relates to freight and logistics.

• Provides solutions to identified problems.

• Perform project assignments as requested

Education & Experience:

• BA/BS degree in Business or related field required.
• 7 or more years of proven experience
• 5 years import/export compliance involvement.
• ERP/MRP systems experience required.
