Position Title: Assistant Manager, Customer Marketing

Location: South Deerfield, MA

Reports to: Senior Customer Marketing Manager

Job Summary:

Under direction of the Senior Customer Marketing Manager, the Assistant Manager of Customer Marketing will be responsible for development, management and implementation of programs designed to achieve marketing goals for assigned wholesale customers.

The Assistant Manager will build and maintain strong internal and external partnerships to successfully execute customer-specific marketing plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Helps execute marketing plans which support omni-channel customer marketing needs and contribute towards the achievement of division sales and profit goals.

  • Drives execution of key customer and consumer marketing communication initiatives.

  • Partners with Forecasting, Demand Planning, Brand Development, Brand Activation, Trade Strategy, Sales, Customer Analytics, Finance and assigned channel account contacts to execute annual customer marketing strategy and plans.

  • Work with internal and external cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective execution of creative to support customer-specific marketing activities and brand awareness; measuring the impact on the overall customer marketing efforts.

  • Project manages creation and execution of all customer-specific activation.

  • Plan-O-Gram (P.O.G) Creation

  • Works closely with selling team to help ensure execution of selling materials, presentations, sell sheets, samples, etc.

  • Able to leverage internal and external resources to create customer specific, data driven, stories that drive growth using shopper insights, category and channel data.

  • An understanding of business metrics and financial acumen to guide recommended customer programs.

  • Create compelling presentations that deliver growth on key division priorities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.

  • 2-4 years related experience.

  • Strong Project Management and organizational skills.

  • Proficient in MS Office.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and build effective business partner relationships at various organizational levels.

  • Flexibility in work schedule required along with ability to travel within the U.S. for customer meetings.

Assist with developing brand strategy, pricing strategy, innovation and product portfolio management and brand communication plans, overseen by direct managers. Key Responsibilities: * Recommends edits to the clear, differentiated, global brand positioning, and revisions to the consumer target consistent with the global positioning. Drives key brand, category or portfolio initiatives that effectively reach and connect with target consumers. Ensures all brand communications are consistent with global brand positioning. * Acts as a brand champion across the business. Works collaboratively with Design Center to participate in global design initiatives. * Works collaboratively with R&D and Consumer & Market Insights (CMI) to develop and recommend a brand &/or category innovation strategy, including role of sustaining and breakthrough innovation, new categories, and new market spaces. Includes innovation in brand communication, business model or strategic partnership. Can explain the innovation strategy to others. * Provides support to the gate-keeping process, through data analysis, project planning and overall support. For some programs, lead initiative from start-to-finish including writing the business case, presenting to leadership, act as the brand lead for the project and mitigate project issues as needed. * Participates in annual brand planning process to set a fully integrated marketing plan and programming utilizing the full marketing mix of advertising, promotions, and trade, working with the Brand Activation and Trade Strategy Teams. * Familiar with consumer insights techniques and develops a strong working knowledge of the target consumer. Proven at independently reviewing internal and external research materials to develop a holistic, proprietary understanding of the consumer. * Analyzes shopper insights and market data to recommend pricing objectives, strategies, and guardrails for key SKUs or categories. Applies price modeling information to manage price. * Supports product lifestyle management as new programs are executed and product lines are exited. Familiar with ROI and financial analysis to build business case and track project progress against key performance indicators. Minimum Qualifications: * Four-year college degree. * 0-2 years of marketing internship/work experience ideally in brand management, channel management, or consumer insights for a CPG, durable, or professional products company. * 15% travel required. * Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. * Fluent in English * Internship or college experience working on cross-functional projects. * Strong communication skills, written and oral. * Proven ability to work on a team.
