  • Optical sales experience. Supervising experience is preferred.

We are looking for an Assistant Contact Lens Manager to join our growing team. The Assistant Contact Lens Manager assists the General Manager with store operations and ensures that the contact lens department operates in accordance with the company policies and procedures. This position oversees the Optometric Technician and the Receptionist.

What would you do? The Specifics

  • Monitor and achieve profit, sales and performance goals (i.e. reviewing the P&L).

  • Optimize and oversee the contact lens department to ensure efficiency and compliance with company's policies and operational guidelines.

  • Convey a commitment to providing outstanding customer service and ensure all associates do the same.

  • Ensure quality standards are met. Review remakes and enforce policies to ensure compliance.

  • Oversee the instruction to customers on the insertion and removal of contact lenses. Ensure Contact Lens Technician follows company protocol.

  • Perform dispensing duties as necessary, if permitted by state law.

  • Communicate with the General Manager, District Manager, and Corporate Office and provide store reporting as required.

  • Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and all associates and doctors are aware of current promotions.

  • Supervise and motivate the Optometric Technician and Receptionist and ensure the timely completion of day-to-day functions.

  • Assist the General Manager with forecasting staffing needs, recruiting, selecting and retaining a high caliber staff.

  • Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.

The Assistant General Manager also recruits, hires, and trains new membership consultants, as well as manages, motivates, and trains existing membership consultants. Assistant General Managers also may lead and manage another department such as housekeeping or front desk and will assist the General Manager in all club operations. Essential Functions: * Deliver the ultimate fitness experience to every member, every time * Meet established monthly sales and performance goals by prospecting and telemarketing * Complete fitness assessment (F1) appointments upon enrollment of new members * Create positive experiences for all guests and prospects * Exhibit excellent customer service – greets members by name, guests, and staff with a smile Job Responsibilities: * Ensure membership agreements are filled out accurately and completely * Ensure every member is issued a key tag and entered into appropriate computer system(s) * Set appointments and maintain schedules * Promote sales of pro shop items, drinks, and supplements * Perform club walk-throughs and inspections and perform tasks including re-racking all weights, checking bathrooms, wiping down equipment, filling paper towel and water bottle dispensers, and taking out trash. Keep your assigned area clean * Oversee cleaning of overall club by managing cleaning crew and the cleaning/maintenance staff members. * Maintain daily cleaning checklist for nightly cleaning crew and for front desk and maintenance person to complete every day * Serve as Manager on Duty as needed * Hold staff accountable for their key results and checklists * Leads staff by example * Ensures the front desk is operated with the focus on customer service * Maintains the desk in clean and efficient order * Ensures bathrooms are well-maintained and fully stocked * Promptly communicates any maintenance issues to general manager * Attends and actively participates in Department meetings * Interacts with other staff members in a positive, professional manner * Assume other responsibilities as needed * Work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Ability to manage team members effectively * Generate, maintain and demonstrate a friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude * Ability to handle challenging customer issues with patience, tact and professionalism * Must have a high level of professionalism, honesty, integrity and work ethic * Demonstrated selling skills * Excellent telephone etiquette * Effective organizational skills * Experience working in a team orientated environment * Excellent communication and customer service skills * Understanding of basic cash-handling procedures * Basic computer skills * Verbal and non-verbal communication skills Required Experience, Education & Certifications: * High School diploma or GED preferred * Current CPR/AED certification preferred Physical Activities, Physical Requirements, Visual Acuity, & Working Conditions: Physical demands listed here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform essential job functions.
