We are currently searching for an Assistant Logistics Coordinator located in Buffalo, NY. As an Assistant Logistics Coordinator on our team, you will be responsible for the daily activities, scheduling, and coordination of the Wolverine fleet drivers.

Job Responsibilities

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting Product Fulfillment Manager.

  • Direct trucks and truck drivers operating within the United States.

  • Responsible for assuring that the required weekly driver timecards are submitted by the drivers as well as approving the submitted time.

  • Responsible for collecting paperwork as well as training rail personnel on the proper completion of paperwork; this includes instruction on how to use the in-house rail car application.

  • Acting as the first level of resolution and managing both drivers and railyard workers while on duty; determining if the Product Fulfillment Manager needs to be notified.

  • Responsible for new employee onboarding regarding requests given to you from managers.

  • Responsible for supervising, training, and performance management of truck drivers as well as rail load out personnel.

  • Ensure high standards of safe work practices while maintaining optimal efficiency.

  • Co-ordinate work activities and work schedules, present schedules to drivers and rail crew and retrieve signoff.

  • Identify and resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.

  • Assist in the resolution of material/product defects and equipment problems.

  • Monitor job progress and costs and provide regular progress reporting to the Product Fulfillment Manager.

  • Review and verify paperwork such as daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, etc.

  • Work with customer/contractor dispatchers to develop a scheduling system to coordinate, track and provide trucking for delivery of product to customer job sites.

  • Dispatching and coordination with external and internal customers for frac, foundry, and railyard deliveries.

  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in construction, maintenance, or project management.

  • Must be able to troubleshoot issues, work independently, take ownership, and pay attention to detail.

Physical Demands:

Required to stand, walk, and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; reach with hands and arms.

Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift to 25 pounds.
