What is an Assistant Kitchen Manager?

The Assistant Kitchen Manager will report to the Kitchen Manager and assist in running all kitchen and back of house operations. As a leader in the kitchen, you are a culinary expert who keeps our kitchens in pristine operating conditions. A Day in the Life of an Assistant Kitchen Manager:
When the Kitchen Manager is not present, the Assistant Kitchen Manager is expected to step-in and perform management duties as required
Assist in leading the kitchen team in performing all food preparation activities
Assist with inventory and supplies ordering
Conduct regular line checks to ensure consistent efficiency and productivity
You will be responsible for assisting in hiring, training, managing, scheduling and developing staff team members
Ensure all company policies and systems are followed
Maintain appropriate staffing pars by actively tracking labor and maintaining budgeted staffing expectations
Supervises, trains, develops, and assesses cooks and dishwashers to ensure continuous growth through orientations, direction, and feedback
Ensure equipment is cleaned daily and supplies are stored properly
What You Will Need to Have:
Minimum of 2 years supervisory kitchen experience
Food Safety Certification
Great leader capable of recruiting and training staff
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time
Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. as needed
Knowledge of safely handling kitchen equipment and how to maintain supplies and equipment
Ability to distinguish product, taste, texture, temperature, presentation and preparation
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
