The Human Resources Assistant provides comprehensive support in the areas of return-to-work coordination, drug testing program administration, and benefit program support. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and conduct pre-employment testing, including: background checks, drug tests.

  • Effectively maintain applicant tracking files using Taleo.

  • Prepare and process employment record changes within Oracle.

  • Maintain records for Code of Conduct training, driver discipline and driver status, and other records.

  • Responsible for driver timekeeping.

  • Provide assistance with special projects and/or other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.

  • A college degree is preferred.

  • A minimum of 2 years of administrative support experience is required.

  • A minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience is preferred.

  • Strong computer skills with specific knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word are required.

  • Experience using Taleo applicant tracking system is preferred.

  • The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, at various levels of the organization, in a business-like and professional manner is required.

  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision, adapt to frequent changes in daily work activities, process work rapidly, set priorities, work under pressure and follow through with assigned tasks in a timely manner in order to meet established deadlines is required.

We have an immediate opening for an Executive Assistant. Job Purpose: The Executive Assistant establishes and maintain official MRC Global records and executes administrative policies determined by or in conjunction with the employees. Responsibilities Indviduals must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation: Assist Executive Vice President & General Counsel (EVP & GC) with strategic initiatives by preparing minutes and coordinating meetings; Research information to assist Executive Management in understanding MRC's current position in relation to the overall goals of the company; Coordinate the execution of special projects with MRC's executive management and corporate employees; Prepare memoranda outlining and explaining administrative policies and procedures to MRC's management team; Maintain confidential information related to overall corporate policy, personnel, and future goals; Perform general administrative duties, including but not limited to, scheduling appointments; making travel arrangements; providing information to callers; sorting and routing mail; taking dictation; composing, typing, and mailing reports, letters, and memoranda; and answering and routing phone calls to assigned personnel; Supports Senior Executive Assistant in Board Meeting coordination and activities. Serves as backup to the front desk reception. Perform other departmental duties or projects as assigned; Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others; report workplace hazards, injuries, or illness immediately. Qualifications Undergraduate degree strongly preferred; Minimum of 3 years experience in a law office or corporate legal department preferred; Demonstrate ability to multitask job duties to achieve on-time requirements. Ability to contribute to the quality process by learning new procedures and functions within the department as needed; must have thorough knowledge of all MRC policies, procedures, and business operations, and maintain confidential information, including information subject to the rules of ethics of applicable bar associations; Excellent typing skills and data entry; working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Must have ability to learn various computer and database systems applicable to the management of legal matters, corporate entities, travel and contracts; Self-motivated, strong organizational and time management skills; attention to detail and good decision making skills necessary. Ability to establish excellent rapport with executive management, corporate employees, branch employees, and outside third parties using written correspondence, proper phone skills, and other effective interpersonal skills. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status; Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently in order to communicate with others; to understand and interpret safety instructions; and to respond to inquiries; Must have Intermediate software skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) Ability to understand and comply with MRC guidelines & expectations, to include Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
