As a member of the Front Office Team, you will be Homewood Suites DC/Navy Yard's liaison to our guests! Getting in on the ground floor of the projected 11 year revitalization of The Yards will enable you to be more familiar with the expansive surrounding neighborhood; while also making our guests feel at home. Job Overview

Plan and manage the room and F&B operations of the hotel to achieve customer (guests, employees, corporate and owners) satisfaction and quality service while meeting/exceeding financial goals. Position is responsible for short and long-term planning and day-to-day operations of the hotel operations. Recommends the area's budget and manages expenses within approved budget constraints. May have responsibility as a member of the Hotel Executive Committee.

Inspire, motivate and create a customer focus and sales oriented environment within every department of the business to drive excellence in market reputation, associate engagement, overall financial excellence and owner satisfaction.


  • Manage associates in the division in order to attract, retain and motivate the employees; hire, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve problems, provide open communication vehicles, discipline and terminate, as appropriate.

  • Develop, recommend, implement and manage the division's annual budget, business/marketing plan, forecasts and objectives to meet/exceed management expectations.

  • Implement company programs (Franchise) and manage the operations of the department in a manner consistent with federal and state laws and regulations and company policies and procedures to ensure a high level of quality and customer satisfaction.

  • Resolve customer complaints as appropriate to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality.

  • Implement emergency organization procedures and training through the management of the security staff to ensure appropriate protection for hotel guests, staff and company assets.

  • Create a work environment that allows for personal growth and development for all associates, encourages an empowered and engaged workforce while supporting the Sage values.

  • Ensure prompt and appropriate response to conflict management.

  • Evaluate and support proper staffing levels and positions to ensure the success of the hotel.

  • Support strategies for the property from an operation, staffing and service perspective while ensuring alignment with the businesses other disciplines and support teams. Support strategic planning, development, and coordination of business initiatives and strategies.

  • Ensure consistent and stabilized systems and processes for the customers.

  • Mentor and develop high potential talent and future high potential talent in line with the organizations talent management strategies. Implement succession planning within each direct report to provide new opportunities as associates develop.

  • Look for more efficient and effective ways to provide services to our hotels and owners. Leverage technology and third parties where appropriate.


Education/Formal Training

A four year college degree or equivalent education/experience.


Four to five years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s).


  • Requires advanced knowledge of the hospitality and business management fields.

  • Requires considerable working knowledge of other major areas and the skill to integrate and communicate that information.

  • Requires studying, analyzing and interpreting complex activities or information in order to improve known practices or develop new approaches.

  • Ability to make decisions with only general policies and procedures for guidance and keeping the General Manager informed of general direction.

  • Requires highly developed communication skills to frequently negotiate, convince, sell and influence other managerial personnel, hotel guests and/or corporate clients.

  • Must have excellent speech and written skills in order to communicate with managers, guests and employees.

  • Must have excellent literacy skills necessary for reports, policies and procedures. Must have vision ability in order to visually inspect hotel.

As Chief Information Officer (CIO) and General Manager of the Information Technology Department (ITE) you will be responsible for leading the management and operational support for information, communication networks, technology services and technological innovation across the IDBG, for developing a Bank-wide Digital Transformation strategy, aligned with the IDBG's business strategies, and for overseeing its execution to ensure that its information and communication systems are agile, secure, cost-effective, and effective in supporting the IDB's goals and priorities. The CIO leads business practices that support all aspects of data management (data strategy, data governance, data architecture, personal data privacy, data operations and data quality), and identifies and develops the capability to use new tools to support enterprise knowledge resources and business intelligence. S/he manages the implementation of useful technology to increase information accessibility and integrated systems management. A member of the Executive management team, the CIO reports directly to the Vice-President for Finance and Administration (VPF). The CIO currently directs, with the assistance of two Division Chiefs and four Group Heads, a team comprised of approximately 100 staff IT specialists, plus approximately 175 contractual employees and contractors to deliver the programs required by the IDB. The CIO and his/her team also oversee the business relationship and services provided by several IT vendors, service providers and partners. The Department's annual administrative budget is approx. $55M and annual capital investments for IT projects related to business processes, information management, and IT infrastructure to meet organizational strategies and needs are approx. $35M. The IDBG CIO provides leadership and support to the IT Manager of IDB Invest who has a functional reporting line to the IDBG's CIO. The IDB ITE Department provides to IDB Invest, all the IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity services; strategic, architectural, PMO and policy guidance; and operational support for all the shared solutions with an aim to maximize alignments and best practices sharing. What you'll do: Establish an over-arching framework for the efficient and effective delivery of information, communication networks, and technology services within the context of the IDBG's diverse business lines and geographic locations. Specific position responsibilities include: * Leading and overseeing the development and implementation of the IDBG's Digital Transformation Strategy to provide a common vision for the modernization, transformation, and innovation of the IDB Group. It will establish a framework for improved governance, strong leadership, and optimal use of IT resources to support effective decision making. * Providing leadership in the effective application of IT to support the mission of the IDBG * Lead the development of the IDBG Data Strategy and the establishment of the Data Management across the IDB Group including Data Governance, Data Architecture, Data Operations, Data Quality, and compliance with the IDB Group's Data Privacy Policies, to increase the user of leading-edge technology, and increasing the ability to collaborate and share data across the organization, adhering to the IDBG data privacy rules and increase external access o IDBG information in line with agreed standards. * Managing IT operational services and investment responsibilities within constraints of stability, cost management and quality of service, while delivering high-quality, value for money IT services. * Developing, in collaboration with the Human Resources Department, a high-performance, professional, engaged, and innovative IT professional workforce. * Working collaboratively with the Vice President for Finance & Administration and Management Team to effectively bring to bear the capabilities of VPF, Human Resources, Procurement, Budget, project administration and support functions, identifying organizational synergies where possible and delivering seamless customer service both at Headquarters and in the Country Offices. * Collaborating with IDB Lab to try, test and promote technological innovations to benefit the IDBG's operations and the development of the Latin American and Caribbean Region. * Collaborating with IDB Invest and IDB Lab to maximize best practices sharing and data and information management and protection. * Overseeing the following IT functional areas: IT Operations Division (ITO), IT Policy and Planning Division (IPP), IT Business Partner Groups (for VPF (IPF), VPS (IPS), VPC (IPC), and Strategic Core (IPX), Tech Lab and CIO Office. Outstanding interpersonal skills to effectively work with all levels of staff and key partners across the institution, including Management, the Board of Executive Directors, and with various IT-related committees. * Solid organizational change experience in complex and decentralized environments; and demonstrated capacity to influence and drive decision-making processes. * Proven managerial skills with track record of building high performing teams with strong client services orientation (preferably in a matrix structure).
