With a high degree of autonomy, provides advice on a variety of restrictive covenant and employment practices issues. Supports the business goals and objectives by developing, delivering and maintaining a business-focused employee practices strategy designed to maximize business results and maintain a productive work environment. Working as part of a team, develops strong partnerships with management to lead the team's efforts in advising and counseling those managers to resolve employment practices issues in a timely manner while simultaneously supporting business needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Advising on the Protocol for Broker Recruiting and risks associated with the movement of Financial Advisors within the Financial Services industry.
Assists in leading the employment practices team's efforts in conducting thorough and timely investigations regarding relevant employee initiated claims both internal and external.
In conjunction with appropriate HR resources, coaches and counsels managers and associates on employment practices issues including: pre-employment analysis, resolution of issues that arise during the employment relationship and issues that surround the end of the employment relationship.
Works to support the team's interpretation of metrics and uses that guidance to advise local management on trends and solutions.
Assures understanding and implementation of relevant company policy and procedures addressing issues such as disciplinary actions, business ethics, performance management, EAP, and reasonable accommodation requisitions.
Conducts formal investigations involving all levels of interaction and providing appropriate recommendations.
May performs human resource management activities, including identifying performance problems and approving recommendations for remedial action; evaluating performance; interviewing and selecting staff.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Conflict resolution methods, including facilitation and mediation of agreements.
Financial Services experience preferred.
