Assistant General Counsel

We are working with a national firm that seeks an Assistant General Counsel-Ethics & Compliance with (10) years of experience in conflicts and legal ethics at a top AMLAW firm, or as an associate with BIGLAW, or as in-house counsel to support the firm’s new business and conflicts intake, lateral hiring, firm growth initiatives, and general regulatory risk management. This role is responsible for overseeing and participating in the firm’s audit response process, negotiation and drafting of outside counsel terms and guidelines related to new business and RFPs, and consultant and vendor agreements.

This role is also responsible for the identification, substantive analysis, and resolution of conflicts of interest, firm business issues, other ethics issues, and regulatory compliance issues. As an Assistant General Counsel-Ethics & Compliance, the new hire will act as the point person and subject matter expert on the firm’s client audit letter responses. The new hire will participate in privileged discussions with and advise the Office of General Counsel, partners, associates, and business professionals on firm compliance issues and ethics issues including conflicts of interest.
