VIEW JOBS 4/16/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-15T00:00 FTE: 1.0 FTE (School Year Position) Job Description: The district is developing an equitable multi-level system of support that requires coaching of stakeholders through the system. The system is being navigated by a Care Process through referrals for academics and behaviors needing coaches to navigate the process with stakeholders. The Care process has 3 levels of Care Meetings: Classroom Care Meetings, School Care Meetings, and District Care Meetings. Behavioral Coach(s) will accept referrals through an electronic tool for this process. The goal is to provide quick and simple Tier 1 coaching of interventions (through the classroom care meetings) that can be used at the first sign of challenges, as well as in-depth Tier 2 strategies and interventions (through school care meetings, ALSUP's and Plan B's) that will be used to durably solve recurring issues. The system continues to provide Tier 3 strategies and interventions (through district care meetings) and guidance when disabilities may be a barrier. There are a number of distinct shifts in this process compared with our current/traditional strategies: * This approach is based on the philosophy that "Kids do well if they can." If they are not doing well, we need to help them build the skills and solve the problems that are standing in their way. This process does both. * The process actively seeks and engages student voice. * This process focuses on collaboratively and proactively solving problems with students rather than relying solely on rewards and consequences. * Using this process will help our students develop Social and Emotional competency. This position requires a positive, consistent, organized, and flexible individual with a strong desire to make an impact on students who are in need of assistance. The coaches will focus on TFI survey data to support behavioral operations, classroom management practices, and processes for solving problems while helping staff develop and enhance skills and practices. Coaches work collaboratively in partnership with principals and other leaders to reculture their schools by changing values, beliefs and habits to ensure the likelihood of a high rate of student learning. This position requires, but is not limited to the following: * Educational License(s) relevant to the content listed may have precedent. * Coaching may include both Behavior and Academic and in multiple grade levels as needed in the future. * Awareness of a growth mindset and willingness to grow along with the organization. * Awareness of adaptive and technical changes and willingness to collaborate with the organization to achieve both when needed. * Understanding of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instructions Equitable Multi-Level System of Support. * Experience and/or willingness to be trained in the ALUSP and Plan B. * Experience and/or willingness to work collaboratively to identify least restrictive learning environments for students which may include, but not limited to, providing services and/or support collaboratively with teachers within universal instruction time(s). * Understanding and/or experience of academic interventions and how to implement with fidelity and progress monitoring. * Ability to forge positive relationships with parents/guardians of students, students and colleagues. * Ability to work collegially with staff, Student Services, administration, social services, and other public or private agencies. * Ability to prepare required paperwork in a timely manner. * Ability to effectively use and integrate technology in the classroom setting. * Ability to transport students when needed (valid driver's license required). * Ability to supervise/coordinate other adults within the program. * Perform other duties as assigned. Reports To: Director of Student Services Application Procedure: To apply, please complete an online application @ www.ashland.k12.wi.us - Employment.
