Key Responsibilities:

Assist Food Service Director in maintaining USDA National School Lunch and Breakfast Program guidelines and requirements pertaining to:

• Federal meal assistance program

• Menu Planning

• Meal Service

• Food service software

• USDA commodity utilization

• Daily production records

• Standard operating procedures

• Professional standards

Additional Responsibilities:

• Data entry of program information

• Process meal assistance applications and certifications

• Implement and maintain organizational policies and procedures

• Assist in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of new employees

• Oversee inventory control to ensure accurate stock levels

• Substitute in kitchens as necessary

• Student nutrition and wellness

• Support student nutrition related project based learning

• Perform additional related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a similar role with a degree in hospitality/nutrition/dietetics preferred

• Strong management and training skills to effectively coach and mentor employees

• Working knowledge of institutional kitchen equipment

• ServSafe certification

• Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities as required

• Exceptional organizational skills

• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.

• Proficient computer skills in MS Office and other platforms

• Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information

• Willingness to grow professionally
