Job Description Summary:
The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for assisting the Food and Beverage Manager in overseeing the operation and staff of the restaurant to maintain the highest level of standards and efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree or higher within food industry or hospitality
Five years restaurant experience.
Two years management experience.
Ability to make quick decisions in high stress situations.
Excellent customer service skills.
Pleasant and positive personality.
Maintaining a consistently smooth run operation. Ensure that employees within department receive fair and safe working conditions.
Ensure kitchen, restaurant, and bar operations are opened and closed according to policy Monitor and critique food quality and service levels. Responsible to assist in menu planning, development and meal specials Assist with hiring, and training of all staff. Scheduling of staff according to occupancy levels.
Monitoring and daily tracking of payroll and revenue. Assist with coaching and counseling staff. Ensure physical atmosphere and cleanliness of restaurant, including inspecting tabletops, side-stations and tray stands.
Assist with monitoring of all current inventories (liquor, beer, wine, food, etc.) and the ordering of new product. Responsible to maintain sales, expenses and profit goals as outlined in the food & beverage department. Communicating with the manager on upcoming events, and promotions.
Assist in end of the month inventories. Responsible for timely performance evaluations of staff. Report the requirements and financial performance to the senior authorities.
Maintaining profitability of restaurant and Room Service through forecasting and staffing. Providing a pleasant and efficient atmosphere for staff and guests. Ensure all customers are provided with outstanding service Responsible for ordering supplies, and inventory control and establishing relationship with suppliers ensuring the business receives competitive terms. Participate on committees to assist with event details, and other special requirements
Respond to any reasonable task assigned by Director of Food & Beverage. Assist in the restaurant and Room Service in whatever capacity needed. Help out in other food and beverage outlets when needed.
Indoor, carpeted, climate controlled environment. Hard kitchen floors with occasional slippery or greasy areas.
And/or well lit, climate controlled kitchen area. Moderate to frequent exposure to loud noise levels. Some odors from food preparation and/or cleaning products.
